Leaky Basement Gets Addressed in Falcon Heights, MN
Challenge
A Falcon Heights, MN, homeowner was dealing with a basement nightmare. Over time, she had noticed that each time it rained, her basement took on water, leading to pooling water on the floor. The homeowner knew that if she didn't address the issue soon, she would run the risk of doing costly damage. She began to look into 'basement waterproofing near Falcon Heights, MN' and quickly found our website. She was impressed with the work we had done in her area, and decided to sign up for her FREE estimate. Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Kevin B, was headed out to the home.
Solution
When Kevin arrived, he wasted no time heading to the basement ot see the issue for himself. Once he completed his walkthrough, he met with the homeowner to go over his evaluation and next steps. Kevin began by saying that the basement could be taking on water for a variety of reasons, but that we had the proper solution to address the problem. First, Kevin recommended our WaterGuard drainage system. This unique French drain gets installed below the cement floor, but atop the footing of the foundation. It works to collect water entering through holes in the foundation, giving it a channel to flow freely to the proper disposal site. Kevin had noticed that the home lacked a means of disposing of water, so his second recommendation was our SuperSump sump pump, an economic yet effective method for expelling water from the space. Finally, Ryan recommended our AprilAire dehumidifier. explaining that sometimes even the basements with comprehensive waterproofing systems fall victim to mold, mildew, and can even feel damp. This is because concrete walls and floors continuously absorb moisture from the soil and release it into the air of the space, and store-bought dehumidifiers just aren't strong enough to keep up. Ryan went on to explain that adding an AprilAire into a space creates healthy air and can reduce the number of viable viruses in the air to less than 1% in two days when set to 50% relative humidity. The homeowner was thrilled with Ryan's explanation and plan moving forward, so the two began to look at the best days to install the systems.
About a month or so later, our crew, led by our Foreman, Gabriel R, was headed out to the home. When they had finished the project, our team had successfully installed 22ft of Waterguard, 1 SuperSump sump pump. and 1 AprilAire dehumidifier. Now, our customer can put her leaky basement worries behind her!
