Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Foundation Walls and Leaking Basement Restored in Devils Lake, ND

A homeowner in Devils Lake, ND had cracks in their foundation walls and water leaking into their basement. Both of these problems made them feel nervous and uncomfortable living in their home. They researched foundation repair and basement waterproofing online and came across American Waterworks. Our Design Specialist, Chad Johnson, went to their home to thoroughly inspect the problems and come up with a solution that worked for them. The homeowner got all of their questions answered and they felt comfortable with the design, so they scheduled an installation date.  Our Foreman, Patrick Burnes, and his production team began the waterproofing portion by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter and diagonally down the middle of the floor by forming a trench. In the trench perimeter, our crew installed our WaterGuard System, which is an underground drainage system that prevents water clogs and collects water seepage from basement walls. In the diagonal trench, our crew installed a feed line that led to the homeowner's sump pump. To complete the waterproofing portion of the project, Patrick and his crew covered the open gaps with rock and applied new concrete.  To begin the foundation repairs, our team dug small holes outside of the home, beyond the foundation wall, and inserted a long, metal rod from the inside foundation to each hole outside. At the ends of each rod, our team tightened and screwed on a GeoLock Wall Anchor. This anchor system permanently stabilizes foundation walls by anchoring walls to the hard-packed soil beyond the foundation. To complete the repairs, Patrick and his crew backfilled each hole and replaced the soil, leaving the yard looking neater than when they found it.  The homeowner was very happy with the work that was done and was grateful we were able to save the life and stability of their home!
