Lindsay Windows in Mankato, MN Loading Dock Slab Repair
Challenge
Lindsay Windows in North Mankato, Minnesota experienced early signs of settling at their heavily used loading dock. The loading dock height was out of specification due to the difference in height, and made loading trucks difficult.Additionally, the sides of the loading dock were sloping away from the center drains, and had caused over 3 inches of settling around the perimeter of the loading dock. Removing the concrete was not a viable option due to cost, and the downtime in operations.
Solution
American Waterworks solved the problem by drilling penny sized holes though the concrete, and injecting a two part high density polyurethane foam to bring the concrete back to the exact height necessary. The polyurethane foam was injected to provide completed coverage under the slabs and stabilize for future use. The installation process took a total of two days to complete, and half of the loading dock remained open at all times. 905 pounds of polyurethane foam was used to complete the project.
