Sunken Concrete Lifted in Dilworth, MN
Challenge
As soil underneath a concrete slab shrinks, settles or washes away, empty spaces and voids will form underneath the concrete. With the soil unable to support the slab, it will create an uneven surface.
This happened to a homeowner in Dilworth, MN with her front concrete step. She did some research and came across American Waterworks, and they provide FREE, on-site inspections for all of their services. They were confident in our concrete lifting products so they got a FREE estimate set up.
Our Design Specialist, Kole, went to the homeowner's house, inspected their concrete step, and proposed our PolyLevel injection foam. PolyLevel uses a high-density, special foam that fills voids and stabilizes sinking concrete slabs. The homeowner was confident in the product and its features, so they signed the proposal and got a date scheduled for the project.
Solution
Our Foreman, Sam, and his crew member injected 87 pounds of our PolyLevel underneath the concrete to lift and stabilize the surface so there was no longer a gap on the front porch. To begin the project, our team drilled small, 5/8" holes throughout the slab. Next, our crew installed injection ports over the holes, which guides the PolyLevel underneath the concrete. Then, our crew injected the PolyLevel underneath the concrete to fill the voids and raise the slab. Lastly, our crew sealed the holes and control joints, ensuring the space was neater than when they found it.
Some perks of PolyLevel are that it is non-invasive (unlike mudjacking), cures within 15 minutes of injection, provides clean results and is adjustable for loads of different sizes. Call American Waterworks today to receive for no-obligation, FREE estimate!
