Sidewalk Tripping Concerns in Excelsior, MN
Challenge
A homeowner in Excelsior, MN, was walking into their home when they tripped on the sidewalk. Knowing this could lead to a serious injury, the homeowner looked to have the sidewalk repaired. While looking through their local shopper, the homeowner saw our advertisement and was impressed with our work. The homeowner called our Appointment Center and made their FREE estimate. Soon after the homeowner called, we sent one of our Design Specialists to investigate the status of the home. Once they completed their investigation, the Design Specialist determined the sidewalk and top row of the driveway was sinking. The Design Specialist put together a solution that would stop the sidewalk from sinking. After some thought, the homeowner decided to go with the Design Specialist's suggestions and production commenced.
Solution
Once they received the plans, our crew traveled to the home to begin the lifting and leveling process. First, the crew utilized the PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam injection solution, to lift and level the affected concrete. The crew inserted the PolyLevel underneath the sidewalk that leads to the front door. Once the sidewalk was properly lifted, the crew used the PolyLevel to lift the top row of the driveway. After the PolyLevel was properly inserted, the crew shifted their focus to the cracks and joints throughout the concrete. To fill those cracks and joints, the crew utilized the NexusPro Sealant, a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks specially formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and can stand up to harsh weather. The crew completed the crack and joint repair, so they were able to clean up the site and leave the home. The homeowners were pleased with the excellent work done by the crew.
