Sidewalk Tripping Hazard Resolved in Caledonia, MN

Challenge

A homeowner in Caledonia, MN, realized it was time to have their annual maintenance on the WaterGuard system in their basement. After calling our Appointment Center and scheduling their annual maintenance appointment, the homeowner waited for our Service Technician, Edgar. Once he arrived, Edgar began inspecting the WaterGuard system and ensuring it was running correctly. Edgar completed the inspection and the system passed with flying colors. However, the homeowner asked if Edgar could inspect their struggling sidewalk. Edgar agreed and he evaluated the concrete around their home. Following his inspection, Edgar determined the sidewalk and driveway apron was settling into the ground.

Solution

To stop these areas from sinking further, Edgar suggested lifting and leveling the affected areas with PolyLevel, our polyurethane foam injection solution. With PolyLevel, any sinking concrete slab will be raised immediately. Knowing we completed excellent work, the homeowner agreed and the project began. The office approved the plans, and then they were directed to our Foreman, Ryan. After Ryan and his crew arrived at the home, they began by installing PolyLevel underneath the sidewalk and garage apron. Once the PolyLevel was installed, the crew shifted their focus to replacing the sidewalk joints. To replace these joints, the crew utilized NexusPro, a silicone-based sealant. The crew successfully installed all the products, so they cleaned the space and left it cleaner than they arrived.
