School Tripping Hazard Repaired in Kulm, ND

Challenge

The faculty members at a local school in Kulm, ND, grew concerned their sidewalk was becoming a significant tripping hazard. Unsure of the cause, the faculty knew they needed to find a solution. Unsure where to look, the faculty asked parents and teachers for recommendations. Several people recommended working with us, American Waterworks, so the faculty took a close look at our services. Solution

After the Design Specialist arrived, they began the thorough investigation of the exterior concrete. Following their inspection, the Design Specialist determined the sidewalk was sinking due to settlement. Once he found the cause of the issue, the Design Specialist was able to provide the faculty with a proposal. Knowing this was their best option, the faculty decided to proceed with the project. Next, the Design Specialist passed the plans to our Logistics team to approve and build the plans. Once the plans were finalized, the homeowner sent the plans to our Foreman, Charlie, and his crew to begin. Charlie and his crew traveled to the home and started the project. First, Charlie and his crew started by lifting the sidewalk using PolyLevel. PolyLevel is a high-density polyurethane formula that stabilizes and lifts sinking concrete slabs. Next, the crew shifted their focus to replacing the joints throughout the sidewalk with NexusPro. NexusPro is a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks that are engineered to provide flexibility and long-lasting durability. Once the joints were repaired, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the school. The faculty was relieved to know their sidewalk was properly lifted and leveled.
