Solution
In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Michel R., arrived at the home to conduct a thorough inspection of the walkway and to answer any questions the homeowner had. During the inspection, Michel explained that one of the common causes of settling concrete is soil washout. When it rains or floods, water moves through the ground beneath the concrete slabs and washes away its supporting soils. Over time, this causes gaps and voids in the soil and the slab would begin to sink. For this reason, Michel recommended our PolyLevel, a waterproof polyurethane formula that is specifically engineered to lift settling slabs. After reviewing the proposal, the homeowner agreed and Michel's design was sent to our Foreman, Sam K.
Our crew arrived on the scheduled date and began their installation by drilling small holes into the concrete slabs and installing the injection ports. PolyLevel is then injected beneath the slab, filling in the empty spaces in the soil. Once the slab has been lifted, the crew ensures it is even and at the desired level before sealing the holes with cement. Lastly, the crew cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
