Settling and Cracked Concrete Driveway Repaired in Fargo, ND

A homeowner in Fargo, ND was concerned that his settling driveway would be a trip hazard for friends and family and decided it was time to get it fixed. Solution

In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, James N., arrived at the home to inspect the driveway and to answer any questions the homeowner had. He explained to the homeowner that one of the common causes of settling concrete is soil compaction and settling. When a soil's load-bearing capacity exceeds, in this case, cars driving and parking on the driveway, the soil would expand and contract beneath the concrete slabs. Eventually, the slab would sink and cause cracks to form along one or more parts of the slab. For this reason, James recommended our PolyLevel, to lift the concrete slabs back to their original state, NexusPro, to seal the joints and repair the cracks, and SealantPro, as a protectant that also extends the life of the existing concrete. After reviewing James's proposal, the homeowner happily agreed and James's design was sent to our Foreman, Charlie C.

In a couple of weeks, our Foreman and his crew arrived at the home to apply SealantPro. As this is applied, it leaves a green tint. This is so that our crew knows what they covered and allows for even application. Then, in a couple of days, the crew came back to lift the concrete. They drilled small holes into the slabs and installed the injection ports. Using an injection gun, PolyLevel is inserted beneath the slab, filling in the empty gaps in the soil. Once the slab has been lifted to the desired level, the crew seals the holes with cement. Lastly, the crew used NexusPro to repair the cracks and seal the joints of the driveway. After they were done, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
