Sinking Walkway in Lakeville, MN Lifted
Challenge

Solution
In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, Lance S., arrived at the home to inspect the troublesome areas and to answer any questions the homeowner had. Lance explained to the homeowner that soil washout is one of the most common causes of settling concrete slabs. When it rains or floods, water moves through the ground, underneath the concrete slab, and washes away the supporting soils. Over time and as this continues, it causes gaps in the soil and the slab would sink. To fix this issue, Lance recommended PolyLevel, our waterproof foam-expanding formula that accurately lifts settling slabs, and NexusPro, our highly durable silicone-based sealant for the joints. After reviewing Lance's proposal, the homeowner happily agreed and scheduled the installation date.
In about a month, our Foreman, Dylon V., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They began by drilling small holes into the concrete slabs of the walkway and inserting the injection ports. PolyLevel is then injected, filling in the empty spaces in the soil causing the slab to lift. Once it is at the desired level, the crew seals the holes with cement. Lastly, the crew used NexusPro to seal the joints. After they were done, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
