Walkway Restored in Red Wing, MN
Challenge
A homeowner in Red Wing, MN was tired of dealing with the large trip hazard in his front walkway as a result of the sunken concrete. He was looking for a quick solution to get rid of the issue that also wouldn't break the bank. He found the American Waterworks website during his search of concrete repair companies and was interested in our FREE estimate services. The homeowner signed up for his own and was looking forward to meeting with a professional. We sent over one of our expert Design Specialists, Kyle Peters, to the home where he carried out a thorough inspection.
Solution
Kyle explained to the homeowner that concrete problems like this typically occur when there has been soil compaction, soil settling, or soil washout. This creates an empty gap under the concrete, allowing the slab to slowly sink or crack. He informed the homeowner that the best course of action was to install both our PolyLevel and NexusPro products to lift, level, and seal the area. The homeowner said yes to the plans and once they were approved, our crew was ready for the installation process. Foreman Troy Johnson and his crew came to the site and began their work with the PolyLevel, a long-lasting polyurethane foam that expands to lift the concrete up. They followed this by filling the empty joints with NexusPro sealant for a smooth finish to the area. The homeowner was excited with the results and happy to have a trip-free walkway again.
