Crawl Space Transformation in Blair, WI

Challenge

Karen S. in Blair, WI was suffering from a rotten subfloor because water was leaking into her crawl space. Her crawl space was also sagging and causing the floor to sink, so she decided to have American Waterworks come to her home and inspect her situation. Our Design Specialist, Mac Cole determined that the floor and subfloor needed to be removed by a separate contractor so that we could waterproof and encapsulate her crawl space. He also suggested that we installed SmartJacks underneath the crawl space to support the weight of the floor. She was pleased with his thorough design to transform her crawl space, so she chose to have our systems installed.

Solution

Our team was able to successfully waterproof her crawl space and repair her foundation within a matter of days. Another contractor removed her flooring and subflooring and replaced the subfloor. After the new subfloor was installed, our crew installed the drainage matting, TerraBlock, CleanSpace vapor barrier and rim joist insulation. These products work together to keep her crawl space clean and dry. We also installed 4 SmartJacks under her crawl space which now provide support for the floor. Karen’s home is now dry, stable and energy efficient.
