Crawl Space Transformation in Marshall, MN
Challenge
Darrin B. in Marshall, MN contacted American Waterworks because he noticed that the support beams in his crawl space were sagging and he was concerned about the stability of his home. He did his research and learned that American Waterworks has been the leading foundation repair contractor in the region for 30 years. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Shane Nephew, who met with Darrin and worked side-by-side with him to design a unique and permanent solution for his home.
Solution
Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his production crew were able to successfully stabilize Darrin’s crawl space by first removing the debris and then installing 26 SmartJacks throughout the space. The SmartJack crawl space stabilizer provides supplemental support and can often lift the failing floor beams, restoring them to their original position. The SmartJacks are made with strong, galvanized steel, will not rust, and remain adjustable for years, should Darrin need to perform further adjustments. Then, the crew installed Foamax Insulation Panels along the walls, spray foam in the rim joists, and our CleanSpace vapor barrier along the floor to insulate the space and protect it from moisture, mold, and pests. Darrin was happy with the results, and glad he made the investment to permanently protect his home.
