Encapsulated Crawl Space in Minneapolis, MN

Challenge

A homeowner in Minneapolis, MN, began smelling a foul order throughout their home. Concerned about the cause, they decided to attempt to investigate to find the source of the smell. Unable to find the source, the homeowner decided to look for professional assistance. The homeowner decided to search on HomeAdvisor to find the best foundation repair company. While searching through the companies, the homeowner noticed our five-star rating and decided to look further into our company. After seeing the extensive list of services, the homeowner decided to call our Appointment Center and sign up for their FREE estimate. The homeowners prepared for the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Dylan. Once Dylan arrived, he began by completing a full inspection to determine where the smell was coming from. After he completed the inspection, Dylan determined that the odor was coming from the crawl space in the basement. 

Solution

To stop the smell from continuing, Dylan suggested that the crawl space be cleaned out and fully encapsulated. Dylan proposed a plan of action that would solve the homeowner's concerns. After hearing Dylan's recommendations, the homeowner decided to follow his solution. The plans were then sent to the assigned crew and production preparations began. Our Foreman, Victor, and his crew arrived at the home to begin production. First, the crew cleaned the crawl space. Once the crawl space was cleaned, the crew installed drainage matting on the crawl space floor. Next, CleanSpace was mechanically attached to the crawl space walls and floors. Once the CleanSpace was secured into place, the crew could install Foamax on the block wall. Finally, spray foam was injected into the rim joist near the top of the walls. The crew successfully encapsulated the crawl space in the basement. The homeowners were grateful that the smell was no longer in their homes.
