SmartJack Save Sunken Crawl Space in Emerado, ND
Challenge
A church in Emerado, ND, knew it was time to have their building professionally inspected. Unsure who to work with, the homeowner looked into expert foundation repair companies near their Emerado. One of the first companies to populate was us, American Waterworks. After reviewing our products, services, and previous projects, the church was impressed enough to sign up for their FREE estimate. Soon after the estimate was made, the homeowner awaited the arrival of Ian, one of our Design Specialists. Ian arrived at the home and began a thorough investigation of the foundation and crawl space.
Solution
Following his detailed investigation, the homeowner found that the foundation needed to be permanently stabilized and the crawl space encapsulated. Ian proposed his suggestions to the homeowner and they agreed. The plans were sent to the office for approval, then to our Foreman, Kingsley. After Kingsley and his crew arrived at the home, they began the project by clearing out the debris. Once the debris was cleared, the crew installed 36 SmartJacks throughout the crawl space. SmartJacks are a high-capacity adjustable steel pier that is designed to stop settling and raise the floor back to its original position. Next, the crew positioned seven GeoLock Wall Anchors into place. GeoLock Wall Anchors will permanently stabilize the foundation wall and have the capability of straightening your wall back to its original position. Once the foundation was stabilized, the crew installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump, one of our most reliable sump pump systems, in the western corner of the crawl space. Next, the crew laid Drainage Matting on the crawl space floor. Drainage Matting is an extremely durable matting that creates a drainage space and thermal break between CleanSpace and the ground below your crawl space. Once CleanSpace is applied to the walls, floors, and other structures. Finally, the crew attached Foamax on the interior and exterior foundation walls. Foamax is an advanced polyisocyanurate foam insulation panel designed with a white foil finish on the front and a foil vapor on the back. Once the crew wrapped up the project, they cleaned up their materials and left the home. The church was in awe of the excellent work completed by the crew.
