Challenge
A homeowner in New Hampton, IA, noticed their energy bill was significantly higher than normal. Unsure of the cause, the homeowner began doing research into possible causes. After completing extensive research, the homeowner discovered their crawl space could be the culprit. Wanting an expert to take a look, the homeowner began looking into professional crawl space repair near New Hampton, IA. One of the first companies to grab their attention was us, American Waterworks. Solution
After the estimate was set, we sent one of our Design Specialists, Ryan, to the home to investigate the crawl space. Ryan arrived at the home and began his detailed inspection of the crawl space. Once he wrapped up the inspection, Ryan confirmed the poorly insulated crawl space was the root of the issue. Ryan recommended fully encapsulating the space with our award-winning products. After the homeowner heard the proposal, they knew it was the best option for them. Ryan passed the plans along to our Office to approve the plans. As soon as the project was given the final stamp of approval by our Logistics team, it was sent to Foreman, Kiko, and his crew. Kiko and his crew traveled to New Hampton and started the encapsulation project. First, the crew started by clearing the crawl space of debris. Once the crawl space was cleared, the crew shifted their focus to laying Drainage Matting on the crawl space floor. Drainage Matting is an extremely durable matting that creates a drainage space and a thermal break between CleanSpace and the ground. Next, the crew-installed TerraBlock can be combined with Drainage Matting and perimeter drain pipes to direct water to a sump pump system. Once the TerraBlock was secured, the crew shifted their focus to installing CleanSpace on the crawl space walls and floors. After CleanSpace was secured to the walls, the crew completed the project by attaching Foamax to the crawl space walls. Once the crawl space was secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was impressed with the excellent transformation by the crew.
