Cracked Foundation Secured in Delano, MN

Challenge

Kyle V. in Delano, MN had a large crack in his foundation wall that was continuously expanding over time. His foundation had started shifting because the soil underneath his home is unstable and it was putting pressure on his foundation as it expanded. As the soil shifts, so does the foundation of the home which causes it to crack and bow. Damaged foundations can lead to many issues such as severe structural damage to the home, water leaking into the home and it can create an entry point for pests.

Solution

American Waterworks was able to restore his foundation by installing 5 wall anchors along the cracked wall. We drilled small holes through the brick wall and inserted long metal rods through the soil. Then, we secured the rods by placing anchors plates on each end and tightening them. Once the anchors are completely tightened, the wall stabilizes and starts to straighten. Foundation repair is a permanent solution to a damaged foundation and it is a much more efficient and cost-effective option compared to foundation replacement.
