Cracked and Bowing Foundation Walls Secured in Mountain Lake, MN
Challenge
Doug J. in Mountain Lake, MN had a cracked and bowing foundation wall in his basement. He had noticed that the wall was bowing further inward as time went on and he was concerned that the wall would eventually fail, which he knew would be very expensive to fix.
Solution
We were able to successfully repair his foundation by installing 4 wall anchors through the damaged wall. We drilled 4 small holes through the wall and then we dug four corresponding holes in his yard. We inserted long metal rods and then secured the rods with anchors. We tightened the anchors and the wall stabilized. The anchors can continue to be tightened over time, which can continue the process of straightening the wall. Doug is glad he chose to permanently repair his foundation, which is much more cost-effective and efficient than replacing a foundation.
