Cracked Basement Wall Repaired in Delavan, MN
Challenge
Chuck C. in Delavan, MN had two cracked and inward bowing walls in his basement. He had noticed the crack gradually getting larger over time and he felt the walls had started bowing even further. He was concerned about the stress this was putting on his foundation and wanted to find a way to take care of his foundation problem before it failed.
Solution
American Waterworks permanently repaired Chuck's foundation by installing 8 wall anchors through the damaged foundation walls. We drilled small holes through the damaged walls and dug corresponding holes in his yard. Then, we inserted long metal rods and secured each end with anchors. We tightened the anchors completely, and the wall stabilized and started to straighten. Wall anchors should continue to be tightened over time to continue the process of straightening the wall. Chuck's foundation is now permanently restored.
