Severely Sinking Foundation Gets Permanently Stabilized in Lakeland, MN
Challenge
James N. in Lakeland, MN was suffering from a severely sinking foundation that was causing large cracks in the walls and ceiling as well as large gaps where the wall meets the floor. He decided to contact American Waterworks to get a free foundation repair estimate because he knew it was only going to get worse with time. Our Design Specialist, Chad Johnson, went onsite to perform a full inspection and provide him with a solution.
Solution
Our production team started the repair by installing wall anchors from the outside of the home into the soil underneath the home. Then, they installed 16 push piers along 3 sides of the home to permanently solve the settlement problem by transferring the weight of the home to strong, competent supporting soils at a greater depth. The piers also helped to raise the home back to its original position. Lastly, we injected our polymer foam, called PolyLevel under the concrete of the home to fill the void. This entire process took just over a week to complete, but now James’ peace of mind has been restored because his foundation has been permanently repaired.
