Foundation Repair and Basement Waterproofing in Austin, MN
Challenge
Travis W. in Austin, MN was suffering from a wet basement and cracked foundation. He had an inward bowing wall where water was seeping through and damaging his finished basement. He was worried that his options were limited because he wanted to solve the problem but didn’t want to refinish his entire basement. He contacted American Waterworks to receive a FREE estimate, so we sent a Design Specialist to his home to inspect his situation. Travis was pleased with the proposed solution and moved forward with an installation date.
Solution
Our production crew got to work and were able to successfully waterproof the basement by installing our WaterGuard drainage system and connecting it to a SuperSump sump pump. Next, the crew installed 5 Geo-Lock wall anchors along the cracked foundation wall to permanently halt movement and prevent further deterioration. The anchors also provide the opportunity for the wall to straighten back to its original position over time. Lastly, they installed the EverLast Finished Wall Restoration System, which includes cutting the existing drywall and studs beforehand and is installed with a vapor barrier behind it, to direct any moisture from the walls into the perimeter drain. These durable wall panels will not be damaged by water, and their completely inorganic design will not support the growth of mold or mildew. The inorganic base molding and decorative chair rail make this an appealing, long-lasting solution that will keep the basement looking great. Travis was ecstatic with the end result, and completely satisfied, knowing he found the permanent solution to his home without the need to call a separate contractor.
