Damaged Foundation and Wet Basement Restored in Marshall, MN
Challenge
Alan C. in Marshall, MN was concerned about his wet basement and cracked foundation walls. He had inward bowing walls and water was seeping through. He contacted American Waterworks to receive a FREE estimate, and we sent a Design Specialist to his home to inspect his situation. Alan approved of the proposed solution and moved forward with an installation date.
Solution
Our production crew began the project by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor. Then, they installed the PowerBraces along the damaged foundation and secured them to the wall before laying the drainage system. Once, the WaterGuard was laid, they filled the gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. Lastly, the crew installed 2 Geo-Lock wall anchors along the last foundation wall. They drilled small holes through the damaged wall and dug corresponding holes in the yard. Then, they inserted long metal rods and secured each end with anchors. They tightened the anchors completely, and the wall stabilized and started to straighten. Wall anchors should continue to be tightened over time to continue the process of straightening the wall. Alan’s foundation is now permanently restored.
