Foundation Repair and Waterproofing in Mason City, IA

Challenge

Larry T. in Mason City, IA contacted American Waterworks because he was concerned about the stability of his foundation and the water leaking into his basement. He met with one of our Design Specialists, Pete Wangen, who evaluated the situation and designed a permanent solution. Larry approved of the plan and moved forward with the project.

Solution

Our Foreman, Austin Lucas, and his production crew started installing our waterproofing system by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement and laying our WaterGuard drainage system. Then, they installed our recommended TripleSafe sump pump. Next, they installed 4 Geo-Lock wall anchors along the damaged foundation wall by drilling small holes through the block into the soil surrounding the home. They dug small holes in the yard that lined up with the anchor rods, and after installing the CleanSpace wall vapor barrier, they secured the anchors from the outside and inside of the home with anchor plates. They tightened them as far as they would go to stabilize the walls and to halt any further movement. The anchors continue to straighten the walls and can be tightened over time as the wall gradually moves back into place. Larry was pleased with the project and can rest easy knowing he chose a permanent solution for his home.
