Wall Anchors and Waterproofing in Chippewa Falls, WI
Challenge
Tracy M. in Chippewa Falls, WI contacted American Waterworks after being referred to us by another contractor. She had water leaking into her basement and leaving a rust-colored stain. It was starting to create a damp space with a funny smell, and Tracy was concerned about the health implications. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Chad Johnson, to meet with Tracy and evaluate the situation. Chad inspected the home and proposed a unique solution that fit her needs. He informed Tracy that the rust-colored substance is iron ochre created by iron bacteria. It naturally occurs in the environment, is common in her area, and besides affecting drains and plumbing systems, it usually doesn’t pose any major health risk. Tracy was impressed with Chad’s presentation and the products we offer to deal with iron ochre, and she moved forward with an installation date.
Solution
Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his production crew first installed 3 Geo-Lock Wall Anchors to stabilize and straighten one of the bowing walls in the foundation. The anchors permanently stop the inward movement of the wall and is installed with minimal disturbance the the lawn and landscaping. Next, the crew began the waterproofing project by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement to make a trench for our WaterGuard Iron Ochre System and the feed line. Lastly, they installed the TripleSafe sump pump in the corner, filled back the gaps with rock, and replaced the concrete. Tracy was pleased with the entire installation process and feels confident that she chose the best solution for her home!
