Foundation Restored at the Springfield Copperative Creamery
Challenge
The Springfield Cooperative Creamery in Minnesota was experiencing some issues with their foundation. The block walls were bowing in, and the committee was concerned about the structural integrity of the building. After seeing our booth at the AgriNews Farm Show and doing some research, they were glad to learn that American Waterworks has been repairing foundations for 30 years! We sent one of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, to meet with the representative and evaluate the situation. After Jeremy’s inspection, he was able to recommend a combination of our products to repair and restore the foundation. The committee approved of the plan and moved forward with the project.
Solution
Our production team lead by our Quality Control Specialist, Rene Hernandez, got to work and were successfully able to stabilize the foundation with the installation of PowerBraces and our CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcing System. The steel I-beams will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustment. Over time, the PowerBrace System can be tightened to make bowing or tilting walls straighter and more vertical. The CarbonArmor System utilizes epoxy and carbon fiber strips to strengthen and stabilize foundation walls that are cracked or bowed. The representatives at the Springfield Cooperative Creamery can rest easy, knowing the foundation is now permanently stabilized.
