Wall Anchors Stabilize Foudation in Independence, WI

Challenge

Mary S. in Independence, WI contacted American Waterworks after visiting with one of our Design Specialists at the Eau Claire Home Show and seeing some of our vehicles in her neighborhood. Her foundation walls were bowing and she was concerned about the structural integrity of her home. She knew how costly it could be to replace a foundation completely, and she wanted to have the issue resolved. Mary met with one of our Design Specialists, Jeremy Radtke, who evaluated the situation and proposed a unique solution for her home.

Solution

Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his production crew installed 7 Geo-Lock wall anchors from the outside of his home into the soil underneath the concrete. They drilled long rods through the brick until they hit supportive soil. They removed the concrete in the driveway where they would need to put on the plates for the anchors. They installed the plates on either end of the rod and tightened the anchors. Then, they installed our SentrySeal membrane and SilverGlo insulation to seal off any cracks and prevent water from entering the basement. Lastly, they replaced the concrete and cleaned up their work area. The anchors secure and stabilize the wall. They continue to straighten the walls and can be tightened over time as the wall gradually moves back into place. Our foundation repair systems are guaranteed for a lifetime, so Mary can rest easy knowing she chose a permanent solution to protect the foundation of his home.
