Foundation Repair and Waterproofing in Granada, MN
Challenge
Joanne E. in Granada, MN contacted American Waterworks after being referred to us by a previous customer. She had some cracks in her foundation and water was leaking into her basement. She was concerned about the integrity of her home and worried that it was negatively influencing her home’s value. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Reed Hudson, to meet with Joanne, evaluate the situation, and propose a custom designed solution for her home. Joanne approved of the plan and moved forward with the project.
Solution
Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his production crew were able to successfully stabilize the basement walls by installing 20 Geo-Lock Wall Anchors around the damaged foundation. The anchor rods were drilled deep into the soil outside of the home and wall plates installed on each end of the rod to secure the anchor. Then, they tightened the anchor to start the process of straightening the wall. Next, the crew began the waterproofing project by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement and through the middle of the floor to install 136 feet of our WaterGuard drainage system and feed lines. Then, they installed our recommended TripleSafe sump pump in the corner and our CleanSpace vapor barrier along the walls to further protect the basement from moisture and mold. Lastly, the crew installed our spray foam in the rim joists, replaced the concrete, and cleaned up their work area. Joanne’s peace of mind has been restored, and she is glad she made the investment to protect her home!
