Foundation Repair and Waterproofing in Rochester, MN
Challenge
Dan C. in Rochester, MN contacted American Waterworks for a FREE estimate after doing some research online. He had water leaking into his basement, and he noticed his foundation walls were cracking and bowed. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Shane Nephew, to meet with Dan, evaluate the situation, and propose a custom designed solution for his home. Dan approved of the foundation repair and waterproofing plan and moved forward with the project.
Solution
Our Foreman, Austin Lucas, and his production crew were successfully able to stabilize the deteriorating foundation wall with the installation of 7 Geo-Lock Wall Anchors. The anchor rods were drilled deep into the soil outside of the home and wall plates installed on each end of the rod to secure the anchor. Then, they tightened the anchor to start the process of straightening the wall. Next, the crew began the waterproofing project by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement and installing 130 feet of our WaterGuard drainage system below the floor slab and resting on top of the foundation footing. They installed our Zoeller M53 1/3 horsepower pump into the existing sump pump basket and our CleanSpace vapor barrier along the wall where it seemed to be leaking the most. Our CleanSpace is durable, washable, and has anti-microbial protection built right in. Any water seeping through the wall will be directed down into the perimeter WaterGuard drainage system. Dan was impressed with the results, and we are happy we could help restore his peace of mind!
