Foundation Walls Stabilized in Fergus Falls, MN
Challenge
What causes cracks in a homeowner's foundation wall? As forces of nature, such as moisture and frost, interacts with the soil around your home causing the soil to expand. The expansion results in a constant inward force on your foundation wall until it can no longer support the pressure, causing cracking, bowing, tilting, and tipping.
A homeowner in Fergus Falls, MN had cracks in the foundation walls of their basement, making them worry about the safety and living conditions of their home. They went online and came across our foundation repair products on our website. The homeowner called our office line and scheduled a FREE Estimate to have one of our Design Specialists come to their home and inspect their problems. Our Design Specialist, Chad Johnson, went to their home to carefully examine the issue and come up with a solution. The homeowner got all of their questions answered and was confident in Chad's proposal of our GeoLock Wall Anchor System, so they got an installation date on the schedule.
Solution
Our Foreman, Brian Colliton, and his production team began the installation by digging five holes outside of the home and leaving the loose dirt on tarps. Next, our team inserted a long, metal rod from the inside foundation to each hole outside of the home. On the ends of each rod, our crew tightened and screwed on a GeoLock Wall Anchor. Our GeoLock Wall Anchors are made to permanently stabilize foundation walls by anchoring the walls to the hard, compact soil beyond the foundation. To complete the installation, Brian and his team backfilled the holes and replaced the remaining soil. The homeowner was thrilled with the project and had a remarkable experience from start to finish!
