Helical Piers Foundation Project in Park Rapids, MN
Challenge
A property owner in Park Rapids, MN took down their entire boathouse due to their foundation settling and causing problems to their property. They wanted to reconstruct a new one but was not sure due to their soil situation. The homeowner knew our Design Specialist, Rick Weber, so Rick informed them about our helical piers. The purpose of helical piers is to transfer the weight of the home or property to load-bearing soil or bedrock, stabilizing the property's foundation. Instead of being driven into the soil by the weight of the home itself, helical piers are screwed into the soil using a piece of mechanical equipment. In many cases, helical piers can lift a sunken foundation back to its original position. Rick recommended getting our helical piers installed before building the boathouse, so the homeowner will not experience any settlement issues down the road. The homeowner was confident in the plan, so they went ahead with the project.
Solution
Our Foreman, Matt Zeller, and his production crew installed 11 of our Helical Pier Porch Brackets for the boathouse to build off. The installation took two days and the homeowner was confident when the project was completed. Our helical piers are made for the year-round installation, are warrantied for 25 years, they do not rely on the weight of structure for depth or capacity, and since they are galvanized, they will not rust.
Along with our foundation repair installations, we also provide service for wet basements, concrete, crawl spaces, and radon. Click HERE to schedule your free estimate with one of our Design Specialists!
