Foundation Repair in Cooperstown, ND

Challenge

Underneath a home, there are several different layers of soil. Foundation settlement and house movement can happen when one of the soi layers is unable to support the weight of the home.

Jenny L.'s home was settling in Cooperstown, ND, and she was extremely nervous about the structural build and it sinking further into the soil. She got in contact with our office staff at American Waterworks and got a free estimate scheduled with our Design Specialist, Richie. Richie drove to her home, inspected and diagnosed the problems, and drew up a solution that worked for her and her house repair. Richie provided her with a thorough rundown on our Helical Pier System and what they could do for her home. Jenny was confident in the product and its warranty, so she went ahead with the project and scheduled a date for the installation.

Solution

Our Foreman, Juan, and his production team began the project by introducing themselves to Jenny and ensuring all of her questions were answered. After a thorough introduction, our team went to work and installed 20 of our helical piers. Foundation helical piers are driven into the soils underneath the foundation, then each pier is connected to the home's foundation with a steel bracket. During the installation, a section of the footing is shown and cut for each bracket. Next, the helical piers are mechanically pushed into the soil. Once the helical pier has been inserted in the soil, a foundation bracket is secured to the footing. After all of the helical piers are installed, they work together by transferring the weight of the home to tolerable soil. Juan and his team cleaned their space after completion and ensured their work area was cleaner than when they found it. The installation took a few days, but Jenny was happy with the work that was done, and couldn't believe how much of a difference it made!
