Failing Wall Gets Fixed in Wabasha, MN
Challenge
A homeowner was worried about a crack in her foundation that had been forming over time. Not wanting the issue to impact the eventual sale of the home, she decided to research companies that specialize in foundation repair. When she came across American Waterworks, she signed up for her FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Michel, was scheduled to inspect her foundation.
Solution
After Michel concluded his inspection, he informed the homeowner that she was right to get in touch with us. He explained that there was only a small portion of the foundation to be concerned about. He recommended the installation of our helical piers, a steel pier that is mechanically advanced into the soil using construction equipment. He went on to say that as they are installed to appropriate depth and capacities, they prevent further settlement issues. In many scenarios, these foundation piers will be able to lift homes back to level positions by the completion of the installation. The homeowner agreed and work began a few weeks later.
On the day of the installation our Foreman, Luis, and his team hydraulically drove 3 of our helical piers into the soil surrounding the part of the failing foundation. Once the job was done, our homeowner was happy to know she could rest easy in her home!
