Failing Wall Gets Upgraded in Pine Island, MN

Pine Island, MN - One night, a homeowner was down in his basement when he noticed a large crack running lengthwise on his foundation wall. Not wanting the issue to cause structural damage, he decided to call American Waterworks to set up his FREE estimate. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Darin S, headed out to the home for his inspection.

Solution

Once Darin concluded his inspection, he met with the homeowner to inform them that American Waterworks could offer a solution. Darin explained that foundation failure can occur for many reasons, and while it might seem like a daunting issue, we could provide a solution. Darin wanted to use our GeoLock wall anchors. He explained that these anchors are an excellent solution for horizontal or stair-step cracking, which is what the homeowner was experiencing. Darin went on to say that this innovative system is made of galvanized steel, allowing for long-term corrosion resistance and that this system will permanently stabilize your foundation wall by anchoring your walls to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond your foundation. After installation, wall anchors can often be tightened over time to straighten your foundation walls further and pull them back to their original position. The homeowner liked the sound of the plan, and the work was scheduled for a few weeks later.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Francisco, and his team ended up installing 7 of our GeoLock wall anchors around the basement of the space. Now our customer can enjoy his below-ground space without worrying about cracks in his foundation!
