Failing Walls Stabilized in Savage, MN

Challenge

A homeowner from Savage, MN, was in the process of remodeling his basement. During the process, he noticed several concerning areas on his foundation walls. Not wanting there to be an underlying issue, he decided to find a MN foundation repair company to assess the situation. When the homeowner came across our website, he was impressed with previous work we had done in his area, and decided to schedule his FREE estimate.

Solution

Several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Adam V, was headed out to the home. When Adam arrived, he got right to work assessing the space. When he concluded, he met with the homeowner to deliver recommendations. Adam began by explaining that foundation walls are designed to withstand loads from above, not the side. So when the pressure being exerted on the side of the wall exceeds what it can withstand, homeowners will see cracking, bowing, sliding in at the bottom, and/or tilting in at the top. Adam went on to recommend our GeoLock wall anchors, explaining that these unique anchors counteract the pressure from the side by anchoring the failing wall to the undisturbed soil beyond the foundation. Thanks to threaded rods that extend through the wall, wall anchors can even be used to straighten walls in many cases. The homeowner liked the sound of Adam's plan and scheduled the work for several months later.

On the day of the project, our Foreman, Francisco E, was able to lead his team through the successful installation of 4 GeoLock anchors throughout the basement. Now, our customer can remodel his basement knowing his foundation is in tip-top shape!
