Solution
Our Design Specialist, Adam V., arrived at the home on the scheduled date and provided a thorough inspection of the basement. He informed the homeowner that one of the common causes of a failing foundation is hydrostatic pressure. Hydrostatic pressure is pressure exerted by fluid due to the force of gravity. When that pressure exceeds what the wall can withstand, it is common to see the foundation walls tilting inward. The homeowner understood, and Adam provided the best solution that was within their budget. Once approved, Adam's designs were sent to our Foreman, Jeremiah F.
Jeremiah and his crew arrived at the home several weeks later to install 6 GeoLock anchors. These are installed by digging a hole into the hard-packed soil several feet from the foundation. Then, the anchor is placed inside and is attached to the interior wall. Both anchors are connected by a small steel pole that runs through the ground. Our GeoLock wall anchors are designed to be tightened and can straighten walls over time. Alongside the GeoLock wall anchors, the homeowner also requested our Hide-Away-Cover, which is placed on top of the interior anchors to provide a seamless look. Once the crew was done with the installation, they covered up the hole, cleaned up their equipment, and left the home.
