Foundation Repair Photo Album: Wet Basement and Damaged Foundation Restored in Clear Lake, IA

Jeff T. in Clear Lake, IA was tired of dealing with his wet basement and was concerned about his cracked foundation walls. He had inward bowing walls and water was seeping through. He contacted American Waterworks for a FREE estimate, and we sent a Design Specialist to his home to evaluate the situation and propose a unique solution to fit his needs. Jeff approved of the plan and moved forward with an installation date. Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his production crew started installing our waterproofing system by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement and through the middle of the floor for the feed line, then laying 130 feet of our WaterGuard drainage system. Then, they installed our recommended TripleSafe sump pump. The combination of these waterproofing products ensure that water will be properly discharged from his basement, and that it will remain a dry and functional space.  Next, they installed 4 Geo-Lock wall anchors along the damaged foundation by drilling small holes through the block into the soil surrounding the home. They dug small holes in the yard that lined up with the anchor rods, and they secured them from the outside and inside of the home with anchor plates. They tightened them as far as they would go to stabilize the wall. The anchors continue to straighten the wall and can be tightened over time as the wall gradually moves back into place. They also installed our CleanSpace wall vapor barrier and our SaniDry dehumidifier to take care of the high humidity and give the space a clean, finished look.
