Radon Mitigation in Mankato, MN
Challenge
Rea K. in Mankato, MN had her home tested for radon after learning about the health implications radon gas can cause. Unfortunately, her test results came back high. The EPA recommends mitigation if the radon levels of a home are at or above 4 pCi/L. Rea wanted to have this problem taken care of as soon as possible, so she contacted American Waterworks to receive a free estimate.
Solution
Our Design Specialist, Reed Hudson, developed a radon mitigation system design that was unique to Rea’s home. Our production crew started the installation by creating a suction point through the floor in the basement of the home for the PVC pipe. Then, they ran the piping up the basement wall, to outside of the home, and up to the roof. We installed a fan in the piping to ensure the radon gas is pushed out and away from the home. The installation only took a few hours to complete, and now Rea’s peace of mind has been restored.
