Radon Mitigation System Added in Rochester, MN
Challenge
Todd W. in Rochester, MN had recently learned about the health risks of radon gas and started to research radon testing and mitigation services in Rochester. He came across our website and was happy to learn that we could perform an inspection and conduct a radon test in as little as two days. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Kevin Kreofsky, to meet with Todd, present our products, and develop a custom designed system for his home.
Solution
Our Foreman, Dakota Mrechlewitz, installed the radon mitigation system by creating a suction point through the concrete floor in the basement and inserting a PVC pipe. The pipe runs up the basement wall and out of the home. Then, he installed a fan along the pipe to ensure the radon gas is pushed up and away from the living space. The gas is then expelled from the home above the roof. The U-tube manometer indicates the vacuum pressure inside the radon system. This will let you know if the radon fan is working or not. If the tops of the red liquid are equal, the fan may not be working or may have been turned off. The U-tube is designed to indicate that the system is actually on and at what pressure. Only a radon test can indicate the levels of radon. Todd was impressed with the quick installation, and glad he made the investment to protect his home and his health!
