Radon Testing and Mitigation in Saint Clair, MN
Challenge
Pam W. of Saint Clair, MN had high levels of radon in her home, causing her to worry about her health and risk of getting lung cancer. She saw our Design Specialist, Eric Hazelton, at the Mankato Home Show and discussed with him the dangers of radon. She got all of her questions answered, and felt confident in getting her home mitigated, so she followed through with Eric's proposal and scheduled a date to get the mitigation system installed.
Solution
Our radon Foreman, Dakota Merchlewitz, and his crew member began the process by drilling a hole through the concrete of the basement to form a suction point for the radon gas. They ran the piping up the basement wall, to the outside of the home, and up to the roof. Dakota installed a fan at the top of the PVC pole to ensure that radon gas was being pushed away from and out of the home. After the mitigation, which took less than one day to complete, Pam's radon levels went down drastically, and she felt much safer being in her own home!
