Radon Gas Eliminated in Wells, MN
Challenge
A homeowner from Wells, MN, had just learned of the dangers that radon gas poses to a household. He didn't want his family to be exposed to the dangerous gas for longer than necessary, so he decided to find a radon contractor in MN. When she found our website, she signed up for her FREE estimate, and several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Brad W, was headed out to the home. While the homeowner waited for his appointment, he decided to head to his local home improvement store to purchase and conduct an at-home radon test, which returned with higher than normal radon results.
Solution
When Brad arrived at the home, he learned the homeowner had already tested his home and that the test reported higher-than-average radon levels. So Brad began his appointment by scouting out the best place for a radon mitigation system to be placed. When he finished, he met with the homeowner. Brad began by saying that the homeowner was right to test their home for radon gas. He explained that it's a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that is only detectable through proper testing. He went on to say that because of how high the levels in the home were, he was recommending a radon mitigation system. Brad explained that a typical radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outdoors. An in-line fan sucks radon-rich air from beneath your foundation and expels this hazardous air to the exterior. Instead of entering your basement or other living space area through numerous gaps and cracks in the foundation, radon gas is extracted from beneath your foundation before it can permeate into interior space. He finished by saying that when installed by an experienced professional, a radon mitigation system will lower the concentration of radon gas in your interior air to the minimal levels recommended by the EPA. The homeowner liked Brad's approach and signed on the spot.
Several weeks later, our Foreman, Dakota, and his team were headed to the home to install the system. When they had finished the project, the home boasted a new radon mitigation system, and our customer was thrilled to know that the air circulating in his home was only the cleanest!
