High Radon Levels in Saint Paul, MN Tackled
Challenge
A homeowner in Saint Paul, MN, had grown concerned for the radon levels in her home after learning that her friend had to install a radon mitigation system in their home due to high radon levels. She decided to go to the store to pick up an at-home radon testing kit and tested her home's radon levels. After a couple of days, the results came back at above 4 pCi/L, and the homeowner immediately contacted her friend to ask which company had installed their radon mitigation system. Her friend recommended American Waterworks, and the homeowner immediately contacted us to claim her FREE estimate.
Solution
Our Design Specialist, Brad W., arrived at the home on the scheduled date and designed a solution for the homeowner. He explained to the homeowner that our radon mitigation system consists of a large-diameter pipe with an in-line fan that is installed beneath the foundation to suction out radon gas and vent it outdoors. The homeowner was thankful for Brad's explanation and agreed to go with his design.
In a couple of weeks, our Foreman, Dakota M., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They installed the system by going to the lowest level of the home and hammering a hole to install the PVC pipe. The pipe then connects to the outside of the home, where the radon gas is blown out. Once Dakota and his crew were done with the installation, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
