Bryan K. in Andover, MN had an uneven concrete sidewalk leading up to his front porch. It had been a point of frustration for him for quite some time because it was a trip hazard and it made snow removal difficult during the winter time. He wanted to find an affordable, non-invasive option to repair his concrete, so he started researching contractors. He found American Waterworks’ website and wanted to learn more about our PolyLevel concrete repair option. He contacted us for a free estimate, so we sent our Design Specialist, Jeremy Radtke, to his home to provide him with a solution. Bryan was pleased to learn that our PolyLevel concrete repair option is a faster, durable and more affordable option that traditional concrete repair, so he set a date for the injection.

One of our PolyLevel experts, Troy Johnson, drilled penny-sized holes into the concrete slabs to inject the foam. He injected the PolyLevel foam until concrete was raised and leveled. Lastly, he sealed the cracks in the concrete with our Nexus Pro sealant. The process only took a couple of hours, and now Bryan will be able to enjoy a level sidewalk for years to come!

Job Stories From Andover, MN
Dropping Driveway Apron Raised in Andover, MN

A homeowner in Andover, MN, was worried their driveway and back patio were starting to become a tripping hazard. Wanting to resolve the issue, the homeowner began looking for answers. After talking with friends and family who had similar work done, several of them recommended working with American Waterworks. The homeowner went to our website and saw some impressive before and after driveway photos and was impressed enough to work with our company. The homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. After the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Romeo. Soon after Romeo arrived, he began his thorough investigation of the driveway. Romeo found that the garage apron and back patio were sinking due to settlement. To stop both areas from sinking further, Romeo recommended lifting and replacing the joints in both areas. After some deliberation, the homeowner decided to follow along with Romeo's plan. Next, the plans were sent to our office for approval, and then to our Foreman, Sam, and his crew. Once Sam and his crew received the plans, they packed up their materials and traveled to the home. Sam and his crew started by lifting the garage apron and back patio with PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam injection solution. The PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam injection solution that restores the appearance and safety of the concrete. The crew started by strategically drilling small holes throughout the slab. Then, the crew inserts ports into those small holes. Next, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slabs. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed. Once the PolyLevel injection was finished, the crew shifted their focus to replacing the joints. The crew utilized NexusPro Sealant, a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and withstand harsh weather conditions. The crew begins by drilling, smoothing, and preparing the non-absorbent backer rod filler. Then, the NexusPro sealant is inserted in the prepared crack or control joint. Finally, the cracks are detailed with a thin layer of native sand, giving the concrete a uniform, finished appearance. The crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was grateful for the excellent work completed by the crew. Don't let sinking concrete worsen in your home, and sign up for your FREE estimate today!

PolyLEVEL lift and Repair in Andover, MN

Bryan, from Andover, MN has seen a change in his walkway and concrete slabs that are located in front of his garage. Bryan has seen many cracks and each concrete slab was not leveled. This raised caution that if left untreated these conditions would worsen and potentially be trip hazards. Bryan then called our Appointment Center and used his FREE estimate at American Waterworks, which entitles him to a free inspection by one of our Design Specialists from our Concrete and Radon division. Once an appointment was scheduled, our Design specialist then conducted a full inspection to identify the cause, resulting in the concrete slab shifting and cracking. After identifying the cause, our Design Specialist then recommended using our PolyLevel solution, a polyurethane foam that is injected beneath the concrete to fill the gaps that were caused by soil erosion. The polyurethane foam then lifts and stabilizes the concrete slab. Bryan then agreed and work started shortly after. Our foreman, Troy, and his team began to work by strategically drilling holes into the concrete slab and injecting the PolyLevel beneath. Once this is done, Troy and his team then used our NexusPro solution, a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks, used to seal the cracks and preserve the PolyLevel solution beneath the concrete. Now Bryan can enjoy his leveled walkway and not fear trip hazards on uneven concrete.

SmartJack Foundation stabilization in Andover, MN

Our customer Zac, from Andover, MN was dealing with foundation issues where one area of his house was unstable due to an unstable basement. This caused a ripple effect that could be felt throughout the home every time there was movement. Zac also saw that the living room floor is uneven and has a dip to the center of the room. Zac then contacted the offices at American Waterworks and scheduled a FREE estimate with one of our Appointment centers based on the foundation issues he was currently experiencing. After scheduling an appointment to express his concern, our Design Specialist, Shane, was then able to get on the property and conduct a full investigation to identify the problem.  As Shane was conducting his investigation he notice that the problem was due to the bowing wood that was located on the ceiling of the basement, causing an uneven floor. Once identifying the problem Shane then recommended Zac purchase our supplemental beam along with our SmartJack system. This system helps support and restore saggy beams over time. As time passes, Zac can give us a call to tighten this system as the house then begins to settle. This helps improve the stability and the straightening of the beam that is bowing. Once Zac gave us the approval to install our SmartJack system, one of our foremen, Arturo, and his team then installed three sets of our SmartJacks that were strategically placed to be able to give Zac the maximum stability for his home.

Settling Foundation in Andover, MN

Coralee V. in Andover, MN discovered that the foundation of her home had started to settle when she saw one of her basement walls had cracked. She saw an advertisement for American Waterworks and decided it would be a good idea to get an estimate and learn more about the situation. She gave us a call, and the next day we had our Design Specialist, Chad Johnson, on site to determine the best course of action. Chad thoroughly walked Coralee through her options and what could happen if she chose to leave the problem unattended to. She decided that Chad's plan to have piers installed was the smart choice so that she could avoid having to replace her foundation, which is a far more expensive solution.

Four push piers were installed underneath the foundation of the cracked basement wall. The piers transfer the weight of the foundation to strong, competent supporting soils at a greater depth. The installation was a fast and minimally invasive process that was successful in lifting the home to its original position. The push piers provided a permanent solution to her settling foundation and she was glad that she chose to have the piers installed.
