She saw an advertisement for American Waterworks and decided it would be a good idea to get an estimate and learn more about the situation. SmartJack Foundation stabilization in Andover, MN

Our customer Zac, from Andover, MN was dealing with foundation issues where one area of his house was unstable due to an unstable basement. This caused a ripple effect that could be felt throughout the home every time there was movement. Zac also saw that the living room floor is uneven and has a dip to the center of the room. Zac then contacted the offices at American Waterworks and scheduled a FREE estimate with one of our Appointment centers based on the foundation issues he was currently experiencing. After scheduling an appointment to express his concern, our Design Specialist, Shane, was then able to get on the property and conduct a full investigation to identify the problem.  As Shane was conducting his investigation he notice that the problem was due to the bowing wood that was located on the ceiling of the basement, causing an uneven floor. Once identifying the problem Shane then recommended Zac purchase our supplemental beam along with our SmartJack system. This system helps support and restore saggy beams over time. As time passes, Zac can give us a call to tighten this system as the house then begins to settle. This helps improve the stability and the straightening of the beam that is bowing. Bryan, from Andover, MN has seen a change in his walkway and concrete slabs that are located in front of his garage. Bryan has seen many cracks and each concrete slab was not leveled. This raised caution that if left untreated these conditions would worsen and potentially be trip hazards. Bryan then called our Appointment Center and used his FREE estimate at American Waterworks, which entitles him to a free inspection by one of our Design Specialists from our Concrete and Radon division. Once an appointment was scheduled, our Design specialist then conducted a full inspection to identify the cause, resulting in the concrete slab shifting and cracking. Waterproofing Transformation in Bethel, MN

A homeowner in Bethel, MN, was having recurring water intrusion issues near the edge of their basement floor. Knowing this could be a sign of a larger issue, the homeowner wanted to have a professional inspect the basement. After searching for the perfect basement waterproofing company, the homeowners decided to work with American Waterworks. The homeowner went to our website and signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the appointment was made, one of our Design Specialists, Shane, arrived at the home to begin his assessment. Following his assessment, Shane recommended an assortment of waterproofing products that would solve this issue. The homeowner agreed with Shane's recommendations and the project was given the go-ahead.

Our Foreman, Lane, and his crew arrived at the home and began installing the waterproofing products. The crew started by installing the WaterGuard, a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. To begin the installation, the crew dug a channel around the perimeter of the foundation floor. Once the channel was dug, the crew could lay the WaterGuard on the bottom of the channel. After the WaterGuard is put in the correct position, the crew could cover it with dirt and cement to match the rest of the concrete floor. Since the WaterGuard was installed, the crew could tie in the new SuperSumpPlus pump. The crew simply removed the old sump pump and replaced it with the American Waterworks SuperSumpPlus pump. Once the sump pump was in place, the crew did one last walk around the basement to ensure everything was running smoothly. The homeowners were relieved that their basement was properly waterproofed and ready for the heavy rains to come. If you are experiencing a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!

Cracks Stabilized in Minneapolis, MN

A homeowner in Minneapolis, MN, was organizing their basement when they discovered a small horizontal crack growing along their foundation wall. Concerned by this discovery, the homeowner began looking for professional assistance. During their search, the same company kept getting brought up, American Waterworks. The homeowner's attention was caught, and they looked into the types of services we provide. After seeing all our wonderful reviews, the homeowner decided to call our Appointment Center and sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the appointment was set, we sent Nick, one of our Design Specialists, to investigate the foundation. Upon arrival, Nick greeted the homeowners and began his assessment. Following his assessment, Nick determined that the wall was showing early signs of failure due to improper soil fill. This is when the area around the home is not compacted properly. To stop the wall from further failure, the homeowner determined that the wall needed to be permanently stabilized. The homeowner knew this was their best option, so they agreed with the plan. Our Foreman, Jose, and his crew were assigned to complete the job. Once they arrived, they began by preparing the basement and lawn for the GeoLock installation. GeoLock is our wall anchoring system that permanently stabilizes foundation walls. First, the crew excavates a small amount of soil out of the ground, so the outside GeoLock anchor can be secured in place. Then, the crew attached the interior GeoLock anchor to the foundation wall. To connect the two anchors, the crew runs a small, steel pole through the soil.  After installing five GeoLocks on the west wall, the crew cleaned up their job site and left the home. The homeowners were relieved to know they caught this issue early enough. If you are experiencing a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!

PolyLevel and GeoLock Saves Home in Fridley, MN

A homeowner in Fridley, MN, knew it was time to have repairs done on their home. Instead of ignoring the issue, the homeowner began searching for a company to repair and restore their home. Overwhelmed by all the options, the homeowner decided to ask their friends and family for any recommendations. The majority of them recommended us, American Waterworks. The homeowner visited our website and saw that we offer FREE estimates, so they decided to sign up for theirs. Jesse discovered that the foundation was struggling and the concrete needed repairs. After alerting the homeowner about the struggles, Jesse recommended the foundation be permanently stabilized and the concrete be lifted and leveled. Wanting to solve the issues, the homeowner agreed and production began. Our Foreman, Jordan, and his crew were assigned to complete the project. When they arrived, the crew started by installing the GeoLock anchors onto the west foundation wall. The GeoLock Wall Anchor system permanently stabilizes the foundation wall by anchoring your walls to the hard-packed untouched soil beyond your foundation. The crew installs the GeoLocks by digging a section of the ground to place the first GeoLock anchor. Once the GeoLock is in place, another anchor is attached to the interior wall. Both GeoLocks are connected by a small, steel pole direct through the ground. Once the GeoLocks are secured, the soil is put back on top of the ground. Once the GeoLocks were secured, the crew moved their attention to lifting and leveling the sidewalk in front of the home. The PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam injection solution, is inserted underneath the affected concrete. To install the PolyLevel, the crew strategically drills small 5/8" holes into the concrete slab. Next, the injection ports are installed in the small holes. Then, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slab. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed. After the PolyLevel was successfully installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. PolyLevel Injections Completed in Cedar, MN

In Cedar, MN a homeowner was eager to make some changes to his front yard area to increase the curb appeal of his home. The first thing he wanted to focus on was the concrete porch outside of the front door. He had noticed a gap between the home and the porch and figured that it had most likely sunk over the years from the heavy weight of the furniture that sat on top. He decided to go online in hopes of finding a reasonable solution that would effectively be able to restore the area without large costs. The homeowner found the American Waterworks company name in a catalog and searched our website online to schedule a FREE estimate with one of our team members. When Design Specialist Gary Schulte arrived at the home, he inspected the homeowner's area of concern and also answered all questions he had. Gary suggested that both our PolyLevel and NexusPro products be installed to the concrete porch as well as the front steps and walkway to fully repair and restore the area. PolyLevel is a high-density polyurethane formula that stabilizes and lifts sinking concrete and NexusPro is a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks. The homeowner agreed and when the project day came, our Foreman, Troy Johnson, and his crew went to the site. They began by drilling small pencil-sized holes throughout the concrete and inserting ports through the holes to reach below the surface. Then, they injected the PolyLevel foam in the ports until the empty space was filled and had lifted the concrete back up. Finally, the crew filled in the holes and empty joints with the NexusPro sealant and sprinkled a layer of native sand on top for a smooth final look. The homeowner was thrilled with how the project turned out and knew choosing American Waterworks was a good decision.

He placed some native sand on top of the sealant for a smooth and neat final look for the driveway. The homeowner was glad she had contacted us and was relieved to have a leveled driveway again.

Waterproofing Before and After in Richfield, MN

A homeowner in Richfield, MN, knew there was an issue in their home when they discovered a musty smell in their basement. Instead of letting the issue worsen, the homeowners began searching for the best waterproofing company near them. One of the first companies on their list was us, American Waterworks. After taking a closer look at our company and its values, they knew we were the best pick for them. Once they set their FREE estimate, the homeowner awaited the arrival of Darin, one of our Design Specialists. Darin arrived at the home and began inspecting the basement. Following his detailed inspection, Darin found several areas where water was sneaking into their home. Darin met with the homeowner and recommended fully waterproofing the basement. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner agreed and plans were sent to the office for approval. Once approved, they were sent to our Foreman, Lane, and his crew. Lane and the crew traveled to the home to begin the project. First Lane and his crew installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. Once the WaterGuard is in place, the crew could shift their focus to removing the old sump pump and replacing it with the SuperSump+. The crew installed a feedline across the floor to connect the SuperSump+ to the new WaterGuard. After the SuperSump+ was fully installed, the crew installed CleanSpace along the walls. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that prevents humidity and mold growth. The crew installs CleanSpace by mechanically attaching them to the basement walls with plastic drilled-in fasteners. Finally, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was given peace of mind, knowing their basement was no longer at risk. If you are experiencing a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!

Dropping Driveway Apron Raised in Andover, MN

A homeowner in Andover, MN, was worried their driveway and back patio were starting to become a tripping hazard. Wanting to resolve the issue, the homeowner began looking for answers. After talking with friends and family who had similar work done, several of them recommended working with American Waterworks. The homeowner went to our website and saw some impressive before and after driveway photos and was impressed enough to work with our company. The homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. After the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Romeo. Soon after Romeo arrived, he began his thorough investigation of the driveway. Romeo found that the garage apron and back patio were sinking due to settlement. To stop both areas from sinking further, Romeo recommended lifting and replacing the joints in both areas. After some deliberation, the homeowner decided to follow along with Romeo's plan. Next, the plans were sent to our office for approval, and then to our Foreman, Sam, and his crew. Once Sam and his crew received the plans, they packed up their materials and traveled to the home. Sam and his crew started by lifting the garage apron and back patio with PolyLevel, a polyurethane foam injection solution. The PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam injection solution that restores the appearance and safety of the concrete. The crew started by strategically drilling small holes throughout the slab. Then, the crew inserts ports into those small holes. Next, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slabs. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed. Once the PolyLevel injection was finished, the crew shifted their focus to replacing the joints. The crew utilized NexusPro Sealant, a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and withstand harsh weather conditions. The crew begins by drilling, smoothing, and preparing the non-absorbent backer rod filler. Then, the NexusPro sealant is inserted in the prepared crack or control joint. Finally, the cracks are detailed with a thin layer of native sand, giving the concrete a uniform, finished appearance. The crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was grateful for the excellent work completed by the crew. Don't let sinking concrete worsen in your home, and sign up for your FREE estimate today!
