Soil can soften due to moisture, shrink due to dryness, or become unstable if it's not properly compacted when first poured. They called American Waterworks after seeing a local advertisement in the newspaper. Our Design Specialist went to the homeowner's house to inspect the issue and prepare a solution. The presentation and conversation took about two hours. The homeowner got all of their questions answered, felt confident in the product and its warranty, and was comfortable with our approach, so they signed the contract, wrote out a deposit, and scheduled a date for the project.

Shirley, from Tower City, ND, got in contact with us when she and her congregation began to notice water pooling in the basement of their church. After obtaining the funds necessary to fix the issue, Shirley contacted us to schedule her FREE estimate with us. Because of her location, we directed this job to our branch in Fargo, ND. One of our Design Specialists, Kole, was able to get out to the property to do his inspection. When he was done, he was able to explain to Shirley that the water in the basement was entering through cracks and holes in the walls of the basement. While the water had done damage, Kole remained optimistic that, with his recommendations, Shirley could prevent any further damage from coming to the church. Kole recommended the installation of our SuperSump Plus, WaterGuard, and our CleanSpace vapor barrier. Shirley agreed with Kole's suggestions and the installation process began soon after.
Our Foreman for the project, Cameron, and his crew went out to the property and began with the installation of the CleanSpace and WaterGuard drainage system. The CleanSpace vapor barrier is a tarp-like material that is tact onto the problem walls and works to catch any water entering the space, directing it down to the WaterGuard. Our WaterGuard drainage system lays below the floor and atop the foundation footing and works to gather water collected by the CleanSpace, directing it to the appropriate place. Finally, Cameron and his crew installed the SuperSump Plus sump pump to redirect water out and away from the property.
Now Shirley and her congregation can have peace of mind knowing that their water problem has been addressed and that our systems are always working to keep their space dry.

Linda from Fargo, ND noticed that her basement walls started to bow inward which affected the home by showing cracks on the Drywall. Linda was worried about the foundation of her home and wanted to prevent any further damage to her home. She then came into contact with our Appointment Center here at American Waterworks and claimed her FREE estimate which entitles her to a free home inspection. Once the appointment was scheduled our Design Specialist began a thorough inspection to get a better understanding of the issue that Linda is experiencing. The Design Specialist came to the conclusion that the best solution for Linda is to invest in our GeoLock Wall Anchor System. Linda agreed with the proposal and proceeded with the project by scheduling an installation date.
Our Forman along with their Production crew then began the project by digging six holes parallel and 12 feet away from the problem wall. Once dug the team then drills and inserts a 12-foot rod through the problem wall until it is exposed in the hole that is dug parallel to the wall. Once exposed an anchor is attached to both ends of the rod allowing the problem wall to be pushed back to its original position. When the GeoLock Wall anchors are in place the team then proceeds to backfill the hole to its original look.

The NexusPro Solution is a silicon-based sealant for joints and cracks formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and to stand up to harsh weather conditions. A homeowner in Hunter, ND, was enjoying time with their family when they noticed a bad stench. After searching, the homeowner found the source of the stench was the crawlspace. Disgusted by the smell, the homeowner searched for a company to provide a solution. The homeowners discovered American Waterworks' FREE estimate and decided to give it a try. We sent out our Design Specialist, Kole, to examine the crawlspace. Following his examination, Kole suggested that we clear up the crawlspace and encapsulate it. The homeowners concurred and the crew began the installation. Our Foreman, Franklin, and his crew started the job by picking up all the debris off the floor and tearing down the old installation. Next, the crew measured and lined up the Foammax onto the crawlspace walls. Foamax is a polyisocyanurate foam insulation panel that has a white foil finish on the front and a foil vapor barrier on the back. The Foamax is secured into place with studs onto the desired wall. The crew's next task was to apply spray foam to the rim joist above the Foamax. Once the spray foam was applied, the crew could move on to applying the CleanSpace. First, the crew installed the CleanSpace on top of the Foamax by drilling it with plastic fasteners. Then the crew installed CleanSpace on the crawlspace floor. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that is durable, washable and has UltraFresh, an anti-microbial protection. Finally, the crew closed off the vents and completed the job. A homeowner in West Fargo, ND was enjoying his basement space with his family when one of his kids told him there was some water on the floor. He took a closer look and noticed the water was present along the whole wall and had damaged some of their belongings. Not wanting the issue to worsen over time, he contacted American Waterworks the next day. The homeowner was pleased to find out that we offered FREE no-obligation estimates for customers to learn more about what was going on before agreeing to any installations. We sent one of our expert Design Specialists, Dylan Johnson, to the home where he carried out an inspection of the basement. Dylan informed the homeowner that installing both our WaterGuard system and SuperSump Plus pump would stop the water from entering the basement and prevent further damage to the home. The homeowner agreed and the plans were approved. When our Forman Domenic Walz and his crew arrived at the site, they began the installations with jackhammering a channel along the water-damaged wall. Next, a layer of drainage stone was placed in the channel followed by the WaterGuard perimeter drain system and more clean stone. The purpose of this drain is to collect water from the basement wall-floor joint, the basement walls and from under the basement floor, and direct it to the installed sump pump. The old pump was then replaced with the new SuperSump Plus pump and a discharge line, which leads the pumped water up and outside of the house. Finally, the crew made the finishing touches and laid fresh concrete on top of the WaterGuard system for protection and a cleaner look. The homeowner was impressed with the installations and efficiency of our crew.

Richie found multiple issues when he inspected the area and assured the homeowner that everything could be fixed. The homeowner was concerned about problems worsening, so he agreed to the plans and prepared for the installations. Our Foreman, Charlie Coleman, and his crew arrived at the site to begin production. A homeowner in Fargo, ND was downstairs in his basement when he became concerned after he found a small puddle of water on the floor of one of the bedrooms. He knew this wasn't a good sign and decided it was best to find a solution sooner than later to fix the problem. The homeowner was familiar with the American Waterworks name because his neighbors had used our services in the past and had positive results, but didn't know what we offered. He looked up "what does American Waterworks do?" and found our website. After looking through some of our before and after photos from past waterproofing jobs, he knew we were the right fit for the project and signed up for a FREE estimate. We sent one of our Design Specialists, James Nelson, to the home to inspect the area of concern and find a solution. James had worked with similar basement situations before and knew just what was needed. When the installation day came, our Foreman, Aaron Ragan, and his crew went to the site and began the project by jackhammering channels along the perimeter of the basement room. Then, they partly filled the channels with drainage stone, our WaterGuard drain system, and more clean stone. They also connected a feed line from the drains to the current sump pump for the water to safely travel from. Next, the crew fastened CleanSpace vapor barrier to the walls to direct water leaking from the walls to the drains below and to brighten up the room. Finally, the crew poured and smoothed a layer of concrete over the drains for a clean and pleasing look to the space. The homeowner was very happy with the results and thanked our crew for their hard work.

A homeowner in Fargo, ND was tired of dealing with the problems in her front sidewalk. Over the years many of the slabs had sunk and tilted in different directions which created multiple trip hazards and allowed for water to pool up in a portion of the sidewalk when it rained. She knew it was time to stop putting off the project and began her search for a concrete repair company that could help. Online she looked for concrete contractors in her area and found the American Waterworks website. She familiarized herself with what we had to offer and knew we were the right choice, so she signed up for a FREE no-obligation estimate appointment. Our Design Specialist, Dylan Johnson, went to the home to inspect the sidewalk and prepare his recommendations for the repairs. Dylan explained that our PolyLevel foam, a high-density polyurethane formula was the perfect solution because the expanding properties of the polyurethane work to lift and level the concrete and allow for an accurate leveling of the slabs. The homeowner agreed to the installation and our Foreman, Charlie Coleman, and his crew were assigned the plans. They made their way to the site and began the project by drilling small pencil-sized holes in the concrete and inserted ports inside to reach the void below some of the slabs. Then, they carried out the PolyLevel injections until the entire sidewalk surface was raised back up to its original height. The homeowner was very happy to have the trip hazards eliminated and to no longer have a place for water to pool up on.

A homeowner in Fargo, ND, noticed their driveway was slightly sinking into the ground. Worried about the long-term issues, the homeowner knew they needed to find an expert solution. After asking their neighbors and doing some research, the homeowner decided to work with us, American Waterworks. After calling our Appointment Center and signing up for their FREE estimate, the homeowner awaited the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Kole. After Kole arrived at the home, he began inspecting the concrete around the home. Once his inspection concluded, Kole determined the sidewalk and top slabs of the driveway needed to be lifted and leveled. Kole suggested a solution that would solve all their issues. The homeowner agreed with Kole's suggestions and the plans were sent to our Logistics team for approval. After they received the stamp of approval, our Foreman, Charlie, and his crew made their way to the home to begin the project. Once they arrived, they started by lifting the sidewalk and driveway apron with PolyLevel. The PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam injection solution that restores the appearance and safety of the concrete. The crew started by strategically drilling small holes throughout the slab. Then, the crew inserts ports into those small holes. Next, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slabs. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed. Once the PolyLevel injection was finished, the crew shifted their focus to filling the cracks and replacing the joints. The crew utilized NexusPro Sealant, a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and withstand harsh weather conditions. The crew begins by drilling, smoothing, and preparing the non-absorbent backer rod filler. Then, the NexusPro sealant is inserted in the prepared crack or control joint. Finally, the cracks are detailed with a thin layer of native sand, giving the concrete a uniform, finished appearance. After the project was complete, the crew cleaned up their items and left the home. The homeowner was thankful to know their sidewalk and driveway were properly lifted and leveled.
