Kevin S. in Mason City, IA contacted American Waterworks because he was tired of dealing with standing water in his basement after heavy rains and snow melt. Being a previous customer, he knew the crew at American Waterworks would take care of him and provide the best solution. He met with our Design Specialist, Dylan Woitas, who evaluated the situation and worked side-by-side with Kevin to create a unique plan for his home.
Our Foreman, Arturo Mares, and his production crew were successfully able to waterproof Kevin’s basement by first, removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement and laying our WaterGuard drainage system. Next, they installed our recommended TripleSafe sump pump. Now, water is properly guided through the WaterGuard to the sump pump, which is then expelled from the home through the discharge line. Lastly, they completed the project with installing our Fomax Wall Insulation Panels. Foamax provides comfort and energy bill savings, while making the walls look clean and bright. Kevin's peace of mind has been restored, knowing his basement will remain dry!

A homeowner in Mason City, IA, watched as the cracks in their foundation grew across their wall over time. Knowing there could be a larger issue at hand, the homeowner knew they needed an expert opinion. Unsure of who to work with, the homeowner asked their neighbor for any recommendations. The neighbor mentioned the wonderful work that we did for them and that was enough for the homeowner to sign up for their FREE estimate. After the details were ironed out, Eric, one of our Design Specialists, traveled to the home to begin the estimation. Once Eric completed the estimate, he found that the wall was cracking and caving due to hydrostatic pressure. To stop the issues from continuing, Eric suggested stabilizing the struggling walls with GeoLock anchors, our innovative wall system. After deliberation, the homeowner agreed with Eric's plan. The plans were sent to our Foreman, Crescencio, and his crew, so they could start production preparations. When they arrived, the crew installed 10 GeoLock anchors on the north and west foundation walls. The crew installs the GeoLocks by digging a section of the ground to place the first GeoLock anchor. Once the GeoLock is in place, another anchor is attached to the interior wall. Both GeoLocks are connected by a small, steel pole direct through the ground. Once the GeoLocks are secured, the soil is put back on top of the ground. Along with the GeoLock installation, the homeowner asked that the tightening kit be included as well. This will allow the homeowner to straighten their walls over time. As soon as all the products were installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowners were thrilled to know their walls were stabilized and no longer at risk. If you are experiencing a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!
A homeowner in the Clear Lake, IA area decided to check on his home crawl space after hearing some alarming stories from a neighborhood friend about issues spreading to the rest of the home. Not wanting his own crawl space area to suffer in a similar way, he decided to take initiative by researching businesses that could help him out. Seeing the name American Waterworks come up in his search list, he began to look at the products and services we offered and became interested in our FREE estimate service. After he made an appointment, he was eager to meet with Design Specialist, Nick Skillman, a few weeks later to look into detail at the crawl space. Nick knew what the best course of action was after seeing the space and informed the homeowner of two products that would help resolve and prevent further issues. Our CleanSpace insulation protects your crawl space from moisture and humidity from the walls, giving that extra protection to the rest of your home from possible issues. Additionally, our SmartJacks system provides solid support for sagging and undersized beams, restoring stability and straightness to sagging floor joists in a crawl space. The installation of these two products began with the help of one of our Formen, Diego Barrientos, along with his crew. They first worked to prep the area for installation and cleaned out any unnecessary debris. The crew drilled a hole and filled it tightly with compacted crushed stone which supports the aluminum base. Next, they sized the steel column to fit the size that the homeowner's house needed and adjusted accordingly to tighten into place. Finally, they laid a layer of drainage matting which allows air and water to move under freely and installed a fresh layer of CleanSpace on top to finish out the job. The successful installation led to a pleasing result for the homeowner and his family to continue living without possible harm to their home's structure.

A homeowner in Mason City, IA was concerned about the water damage of his basement flooring. He found the American Waterworks website in his search of basement waterproofing solutions and was impressed with their past work. He decided to sign up for a FREE estimate appointment with us so he could learn more about the problem before agreeing to a project. We sent Design Specialist Trevor Simmons over to the home to answer any questions and inspect the basement space. The homeowner agreed and scheduled a date for the project to begin. Our Foreman, Victor Salvador, and his crew went to the site to carry out the installations and started by jackhammering channels along the perimeter of the basement. They placed a layer of drainage stone in the channels, followed by the WaterGuard drains and more clean stone. Next, the crew carefully placed the new TripleSafe sump pump in the necessary location and filled the surrounding area with clean gravel. A feed line was connected from the drains to the new pump as a connection for the water to safely flow up and out of the home. A homeowner from Mason City, IA, had been aware of the sinking and uneven concrete on her driveway for years. Not wanting the eyesore to impact any resale of the home, she decided to do some research about companies in the area that offer concrete restoration services. When she came across our website and discovered that we offered FREE estimates, she decided to have us out to her home. A few weeks later our Design Specialist, Romeo, made his way to Mason City to see the problem driveway.
Upon completing his inspection, he met with the homeowner to inform her of his plan of action. Romeo informed her that he wanted to use our PolyLevel lifting solution, a polyurethane foam that expands when injected under concrete slabs, slowly pushing them up and back into their desired position. He finished by saying that our team would finish the project by installing our NexusPro, a silicone-based sealant that gets applied to cracks and joints in the concrete to keep unwanted elements away from the soil, preventing further sinking in the future. The homeowner agreed to the proposal, and the work was scheduled to be completed a few weeks later.
On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Troy, arrived at the home and immediately got to work verifying the measurements that Romeo had left behind for him. Next, he drilled small quarter-sized holes into the sunken slabs. Next, he pumped our PolyLevel into the holes and closely monitored the lifting process until the slab was back at its intended location. When he had completed the lift he slowly and carefully applied our NexusPro to the joints and cracks of the slab. When the job had been completed our homeowner was thrilled to know she no longer had to look at a sunken driveway.

A homeowner in Mason City, IA, realized their basement was in some trouble after discovering damp spots throughout. Unsure of the cause, the homeowner knew they needed an expert second opinion. The homeowner realized their neighbor, Brady, works for a highly accredited waterproofing company out of Rochester, American Waterworks. The homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate with Brady. Once the estimate details were finalized, Brady went to the home and began the detailed inspection. While completing the inspection, Brady discovered the water was coming through the northern wall because it was not exiting properly. Brady recommended installing a buried discharge line outside the home to continue the flow of exiting water. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner agreed with his suggestions. Brady sent the plans to our Logistics team to build the project, then they were sent to our Foreman, Diego, and his crew. Diego and his crew traveled to the home to start the project. Once they arrived, they began by carefully taking out sections of the lawn to create a channel for the discharge line. Next, they placed the discharge line in the channels and tied it to the current water system. Finally, the crew carefully placed the lawn back and cleaned up their materials. A homeowner in Mason City, IA, received a reminder that it was about time to schedule their annual maintenance appointment. Soon after, the homeowner called the number on the sticker and they were directed to our Service team. Our Service team scheduled their annual maintenance appointment with Kyle, one of our Service Technicians. Kyle traveled to the home and began his inspection of the basement. During his inspection, Kyle found several signs that pointed to early signs of wall failure. To stop the wall failure from continuing, Kyle recommended permanently stabilizing the walls using GeoLocks, a wall anchor solution. The homeowner agreed with Kyle's proposal, so he passed the plans to the office to be finalized. After the office finalized the plans, they were sent to our Foreman, Juan, and his crew to install the GeoLock Wall Anchors. When they arrived, Juan and his crew prepared the wall for the stabilization. Once the wall was ready, Juan and his crew installed five GeoLock Wall Anchors along the south wall. After the five GeoLocks were properly secured along the south wall, the crew was able to clean up their materials and leave the home. Next, Romeo sent the plans to our Logistics team to build the project. Once the project was built, the plans were assigned to our Forman, Diego, and his crew. After they received the plans, Diego and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. First, Diego and his crew made sure the crawl space was cleared. Next, the crew installed Drainage Matting on the crawl space floor. The CleanSpace Drainage Matting gives the water flooding into your crawl space a channel below your crawl space liner. One member of the crew begins by laying the drainage matting while another puts one over the top. This is a very efficient and swift installation process. After the CleanSpace Drainage Matting is installed, the crew can go in and install CleanSpace on the crawl space walls. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that prevents humidity and mold growth. The crew installs CleanSpace by mechanically attaching them to the basement walls with plastic drilled-in fasteners. Afterward, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was grateful for the efficient work done by the crew. If you are suffering from a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!

Once the estimate was set, we sent one of our Iowa-based Design Specialists, Brady. Following his arrival, Brady began his detailed investigation of the basement. Brady determined that the basement was suffering from water intrusion. To stop the water intrusion, Brady recommended installing WaterGuard and a new sump pump. The homeowner agreed with Brady's proposal, so he passed the plans along to our Office to build the project. Once the office gave the final stamp of approval, the proposal was sent to our Foreman, Kevin, and his crew. Kevin and his crew arrived at the home and began the installation. First, the crew installed WaterGuard along the two walls. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. Once the WaterGuard is in place, the crew could shift their focus to removing the old sump pump and replacing it with the SuperSump+. The crew installed a feedline across the floor to connect the SuperSump+ to the new WaterGuard. After the WaterGuard and SuperSump+ were secured, the crew shifted their focus to the outside discharge line. The crew installed an IceGuard on the outside discharge line. An IceGuard allows water to escape if the sump pump discharge pipe freezes or becomes blocked for any reason. Once all the products were installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted with the excellent work completed by the crew.
