Julie P. of Moorhead, MN had a small water leak underneath her basement stairs. It would only occur during heavy rainstorms. She worked with American Waterworks for the repairs, and her Design Specialist was Ian Schultz. Ian examined the water leak and determined the solution of our WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain and CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier. Julie was confident in the proposal, so she went ahead with the project and got a date scheduled for the installation.

Our Foreman, Ryan Loe, and his production team broke out the concrete where the water leak was and installed our WaterGuard, which collects water from basement walls and serves as an underground drain to the sump pump. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace which prevents mold and humidity and serves as a protective blanket. To complete the work, our crew filled the open-floor gap with river rock and applied a new layer of concrete over it, ensuring the space was neater and cleaner than when they found it.

At American Waterworks, we provide services in basement waterproofing, foundation repair, crawl space repair/encapsulation, and concrete repair/lifting. Call us today or click HERE to request and schedule your FREE estimate!

Basement Wall Gets Stabilized in Barnesville, MN

Donald from Barnesville, MN got in contact with us when he began to notice a crack forming along his basement wall. He was afraid that if he left the issue unresolved, he would run the risk of the wall failing even more. When he called our office, we set him up with our FREE estimate, entitling him to a thorough inspection by one of our Design Specialists. A few weeks later, Kole was out at the property to complete his inspection, as well as make recommendations as to how we could help fix the issue. Once his walkthrough was completed, Kole informed Donald that he wanted to use our GeoLock anchors to fix the issue. He explained that this solution works to stabilize walls by anchoring them to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond the foundation. He went on to say that, after installation, the anchors can often be tightened over time to further straighten foundation walls to pull them back to their original position.

The customer agreed to the solution and work began a few weeks after. Our Foreman, Zach, began the process by verifying interior measurements for the anchors. Next, he excavated holes on the outer side of the foundation to place one side of the anchor in. Next, he drilled holes to run a rod through to connect the anchors. He finished by tightening them appropriately. At the end of the project, Zach and his crew installed 8 of our anchors throughout the basement. When work was done, our customer was happy to know that he didn't have to worry about his basement foundation any longer!

Driveway and Sidewalked Saved in Glydon, MN

A homeowner in Glydon, MN, was concerned with the status of their concrete. Knowing they did not want to replace the sidewalk or driveway slab, the homeowner looked into concrete repair options. One of the first companies to catch the homeowner's eye was us, American Waterworks. The homeowner saw the previous work we had done and knew we would be the company to complete the job. Since they were on the website already, they decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. When the estimate was set, one of our Design Specialist, Richie, was sent to complete the estimate. After Richie completed his analysis of the concrete, he determined that the soil settlement was the root of the issues. To stop the sidewalk from sinking further, Richie suggested using the PolyLevel to lift and level the sidewalk. The homeowner agreed with this suggestion and the plans were sent to the production crew. Our Foreman, Charlie, and his crew arrived at the home to begin the traveled to the home to begin the PolyLevel and NexusPro installation. PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam injection solution that restores the appearance and safety of the concrete. The crew started by strategically drilling small holes throughout the slab. Then, the crew inserts ports into those small holes. Next, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slabs. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed. The homeowner began asking their friends and neighbors and many of them recommended American Waterworks. Wanting to give us a chance, the homeowners went to our website and signed up for their FREE estimate. Not wanting this to become a larger issue, the homeowner agreed, and production commenced. Our Foreman, Kingsley, and his crew arrived at the home to begin production. The crew began by installing the WaterGuard around the entire perimeter of the basement. To install the WaterGuard, the crew begins by digging a small trench around the perimeter of the basement. Then, a drainage stone is placed in the trench and the WaterGuard is placed on top. Once the WaterGuard is secured into place, the crew covers it with cement and smooths it out to give a uniform finish. Additionally, a feedline was dug across the floor to ensure full protection. The crew removed the old sump pump and replaced it with the SuperSump+. On the outside of the home, an IceGuard was installed on the discharge line. Worn down driveway gets a solution in Moorhead, MN

A homeowner from Moorhead, MN, was getting his home ready for resale. Before he could confidently list his home, he knew that several areas of the home needed updating. One of the larger projects the homeowner had to complete was the renovation of his driveway. Ever since he could remember, the concrete had been sinking and cracking under the uneven pressure. He was afraid the issue would require him to tear out the whole driveway and replace it, but he did know alternative methods were used to address this kind of problem. He began to search for MN concrete repair companies and quickly found our website. He decided to sign up for his FREE estimate, and several weeks later, James N, one of our Design Specialists, was out at the home.

James got right to work assessing the concrete. He explained to the homeowner that concrete can sink for a variety of reasons but that American Waterworks could help restore the concrete with our PolyLevel injection. He explained that this polyurethane foam expands when it's injected beneath sinking concrete slabs. It works to slowly fill the voids left by soil erosion, lifting the concrete back to its position in the process. James elaborated, saying that, compared to other methods, PolyLevel is cheaper, less invasive, and less time-consuming. James went on to say that he recommended safeguarding the concrete with our NexusPro. This silicone-based sealant is applied to all cracks and joints in the newly lifted concrete and serves as a barrier between vulnerable soil and harsh weather conditions. The homeowner liked the sound of James' plan, and scheduled the work for several weeks out.

Our Foreman, CJ C, and his crew arrived bright and early on the day of the project. They began by verifying the measurements that James had left for them. Next, they strategically drilled holes into the sunken concrete. Then, they inserted the PolyLevel through ports, closely monitoring the lifting process to ensure the slab returned to the correct location. Finally, they sealed off all entry points with NexusPro. Now, our customer can confidently list his home for sale without worries that his sunken driveway would hinder resale!
