A customer from Epping, ND was facing issues with a musty odor originating from his crawl space beneath his home. He feared that the smell could be an indicator of a deeper issue, and wanted to correct it before it could get any worse. After doing research about crawl space encapsulation companies, he came across our website. He decided to call our office and we were able to set him up with our FREE estimate, entitling him to a free, thorough inspection by a member of our Design Specialist team. A few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ian, headed out to the property to complete his walkthrough. Once he finished, he informed our customer that the odor was becoming more noticeable because of the excess amount of water entering the space through porous cracks and holes in the foundation. During Ian's inspection, he found that the relative humidity of the space was 57.34%. Ian informed our customer that we recommend taking action when RH levels are above 55%. After Ian was done reporting on what he had found, he was able to recommend some products he felt would best fit our customer's issue. First, Ian recommended our drainage matting; a dimpled matting that gets installed onto the floor of the crawl space, giving any excess water a route to flow through the space and be disposed of at an external site such as a drain or a sump system.
