Andrew B. of Fargo, ND had water continuously leaking from his pre-existing sump pump and needed repairs. He did some research online and came across American Waterworks and our sump pump installations. After filling out our online FREE Estimate form, we sent out our Design Specialist, Dylan Woitas, to help him come up with a solution to his problem. After a thorough inspection, Andrew was comfortable with Dylan's plan, so he went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Tremaine Jackson, and his production team began the project by cutting out the concrete around the pre-existing sump pump and replacing it with our SuperSump Plus M53 sump pump. Our sump pumps are made to keep basements dry for long periods of time. Next, our team cut out 58 feet of concrete around the floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, Tremaine and his team installed our WaterGuard System, which acts as an underground drain, collects water seepage from basement walls, and guides water to the sump pump. To complete the project, our crew covered the open gaps with rock and applied new concrete. Andrew was happy with the work and no longer has to worry about water leaking into his basement!

Next, Dylan passed the plans along to our office to be approved. Once our Logistics team scheduled the project, it was assigned to our Foreman, Emmanuel, and his crew. Emmanuel and his crew traveled to the home and started the waterproofing installation. First, the crew installed WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. Once the WaterGuard is in place, the crew could shift their focus to removing the old sump pump and replacing it with the SuperSump+. The crew installed a feedline across the floor to connect the SuperSump+ to the new WaterGuard. Next, the crew shifted their focus to attaching an IceGuard to the outside discharge line. An IceGuard is an anti-freeze fitting that is installed outside the home and ejects water away from the foundation. Next, the project was assigned to our Foreman, Franklin, and his crew. As soon as they received the plans, Franklin and his team made the quick trip to the home and started the project. First, Franklin and his team installed WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. After the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of Ian, one of our Design Specialists. Ian traveled to the home, introduced himself to the homeowner, and began the thorough investigation of the crawl space. Once he wrapped up the inspection, Ian was able to determine the crawl space odor was a result of poor encapsulation. To prevent the issue from worsening, Ian recommended fully encapsulating the crawl space. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner decided to go ahead with the proposal. Next, Ian passed the plans along to our Logistics team to schedule and build the project. The project was assigned to our Foreman, Franklin, and his crew to begin the project. Franklin and his crew traveled to the home and started the encapsulation project. First, Franklin and his crew cleared out the crawl space for the encapsulation. Once the crawl space was cleared, Franklin and his crew laid Drainage Matting on the crawl space floor. The CleanSpace Drainage Matting gives the water flooding into your crawl space a channel below your crawl space liner. One member of the crew begins by laying the drainage matting while another puts one over the top. This is a very efficient and swift installation process. After the CleanSpace Drainage Matting is installed, the crew can go in and install CleanSpace on the crawl space walls. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that prevents humidity and mold growth. The crew installs CleanSpace by mechanically attaching them to the basement walls with plastic drilled-in fasteners. Next, the crew installed Foamax on the crawl space walls. A homeowner in Fargo, ND, noticed their driveway was slightly sinking into the ground. Worried about the long-term issues, the homeowner knew they needed to find an expert solution. After asking their neighbors and doing some research, the homeowner decided to work with us, American Waterworks. After calling our Appointment Center and signing up for their FREE estimate, the homeowner awaited the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Kole. After Kole arrived at the home, he began inspecting the concrete around the home. Once his inspection concluded, Kole determined the sidewalk and top slabs of the driveway needed to be lifted and leveled. Kole suggested a solution that would solve all their issues. The homeowner agreed with Kole's suggestions and the plans were sent to our Logistics team for approval. After they received the stamp of approval, our Foreman, Charlie, and his crew made their way to the home to begin the project. Once they arrived, they started by lifting the sidewalk and driveway apron with PolyLevel. The PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam injection solution that restores the appearance and safety of the concrete. The crew started by strategically drilling small holes throughout the slab. Then, the crew inserts ports into those small holes. Next, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slabs. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed. Once the PolyLevel injection was finished, the crew shifted their focus to filling the cracks and replacing the joints. The crew utilized NexusPro Sealant, a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and withstand harsh weather conditions. The crew begins by drilling, smoothing, and preparing the non-absorbent backer rod filler. Then, the NexusPro sealant is inserted in the prepared crack or control joint. Finally, the cracks are detailed with a thin layer of native sand, giving the concrete a uniform, finished appearance. After the project was complete, the crew cleaned up their items and left the home. The homeowner was thankful to know their sidewalk and driveway were properly lifted and leveled. A homeowner in Fargo, ND was tired of dealing with the problems in her front sidewalk. Over the years many of the slabs had sunk and tilted in different directions which created multiple trip hazards and allowed for water to pool up in a portion of the sidewalk when it rained. She knew it was time to stop putting off the project and began her search for a concrete repair company that could help. Online she looked for concrete contractors in her area and found the American Waterworks website. She familiarized herself with what we had to offer and knew we were the right choice, so she signed up for a FREE no-obligation estimate appointment. Our Design Specialist, Dylan Johnson, went to the home to inspect the sidewalk and prepare his recommendations for the repairs. Dylan explained that our PolyLevel foam, a high-density polyurethane formula was the perfect solution because the expanding properties of the polyurethane work to lift and level the concrete and allow for an accurate leveling of the slabs. The homeowner agreed to the installation and our Foreman, Charlie Coleman, and his crew were assigned the plans. They made their way to the site and began the project by drilling small pencil-sized holes in the concrete and inserted ports inside to reach the void below some of the slabs. Then, they carried out the PolyLevel injections until the entire sidewalk surface was raised back up to its original height. The homeowner was very happy to have the trip hazards eliminated and to no longer have a place for water to pool up on.

A homeowner in Fargo, ND was downstairs in his basement when he became concerned after he found a small puddle of water on the floor of one of the bedrooms. He knew this wasn't a good sign and decided it was best to find a solution sooner than later to fix the problem. The homeowner was familiar with the American Waterworks name because his neighbors had used our services in the past and had positive results, but didn't know what we offered. After looking through some of our before and after photos from past waterproofing jobs, he knew we were the right fit for the project and signed up for a FREE estimate. We sent one of our Design Specialists, James Nelson, to the home to inspect the area of concern and find a solution. James had worked with similar basement situations before and knew just what was needed. When the installation day came, our Foreman, Aaron Ragan, and his crew went to the site and began the project by jackhammering channels along the perimeter of the basement room. Then, they partly filled the channels with drainage stone, our WaterGuard drain system, and more clean stone. They also connected a feed line from the drains to the current sump pump for the water to safely travel from. Next, the crew fastened CleanSpace vapor barrier to the walls to direct water leaking from the walls to the drains below and to brighten up the room. Finally, the crew poured and smoothed a layer of concrete over the drains for a clean and pleasing look to the space. A homeowner in Fargo, ND noticed just how much damage his driveway had gone through over the years. During his search he found the American Waterworks website and it stood out to him because of our FREE no-obligation estimate offers. The homeowner was concerned about problems worsening, so he agreed to the plans and prepared for the installations. Our Foreman, Charlie Coleman, and his crew arrived at the site to begin production. Linda from Fargo, ND noticed that her basement walls started to bow inward which affected the home by showing cracks on the Drywall. Linda was worried about the foundation of her home and wanted to prevent any further damage to her home. She then came into contact with our Appointment Center here at American Waterworks and claimed her FREE estimate which entitles her to a free home inspection. Our Foreman, Geno Mclain, and his crew member started the Radon Mitigation installation by drilling a hole through the concrete floor of the basement. The purpose of doing that is to form a suction point for the radon gas. Our crew ran the piping up through the basement wall, to the outside of the home, and up to the roof. Geno installed a fan at the top of the PVC pipe to make sure that the radon gas was being pushed up and away from the home. The installation took less than a day to complete. Krystal's radon levels went down dramatically. She was much happier living and breathing in her home knowing that she was living in a much safer environment.

Our Foreman, Matt Zeller, and his production team began the project by introducing themselves to Don and Lillian and answering any last-minute questions for them. Our team installed five of our PowerBraces against the bowing foundation wall. Our PowerBraces are made to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten them over time. Over time, PowerBraces can be tightened by the homeowner to make sure the walls are staying vertical. Don and Lillian were happy with the repairs and had a great experience from start to finish!

Alan I. of Fargo, ND was experiencing a settling foundation, making him feel nervous about the safety of living in his home. He went to his local home show to see if he could find a contractor that could help him. After seeing American Waterworks and discussing our foundation repair products with our Design Specialist, Rick Weber, Alan felt confident with our work. He scheduled a FREE Estimate for Rick to come to his home, inspect the problem, and come up with a solution. After an in-depth examination, Alan felt comfortable with Rick's proposal, and our foundation repair helical piers, so he went ahead with the project.
Our Foreman, Matt Zeller, began the installation by digging the soil out from the area around the foundation and had the helical pier sections be mechanically "screwed" into the soil. Once the depths were met, the foundation brackets were installed below and against the foundation footing/ The weight of Alan's home was then transferred through the helical piers to deeper soils. His home was then lifted back into its original position. To complete the project, Matt and his team backfilled the holes and replaced the soil, leaving the home looking neater than when they found it.
Take-away about our helical piers: They create a supporting base that helps transfer the weight of the home down towards the stronger, supportive soils.
