Next, our crew installed our WaterGuard System in the trench, which serves as an underground drain. To complete the job, Matt and his team filled the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. Andrew B. of Fargo, ND had water continuously leaking from his pre-existing sump pump and needed repairs. He did some research online and came across American Waterworks and our sump pump installations. After filling out our online FREE Estimate form, we sent out our Design Specialist, Dylan Woitas, to help him come up with a solution to his problem. After a thorough inspection, Andrew was comfortable with Dylan's plan, so he went ahead with the project.

Our Foreman, Tremaine Jackson, and his production team began the project by cutting out the concrete around the pre-existing sump pump and replacing it with our SuperSump Plus M53 sump pump. Our sump pumps are made to keep basements dry for long periods of time. Next, our team cut out 58 feet of concrete around the floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, Tremaine and his team installed our WaterGuard System, which acts as an underground drain, collects water seepage from basement walls, and guides water to the sump pump. To complete the project, our crew covered the open gaps with rock and applied new concrete. Andrew was happy with the work and no longer has to worry about water leaking into his basement!

Job Stories From Fargo, ND
Wet Basement Repair in Fargo, ND

A homeowner in Fargo, ND, grew distressed after discovering standing water in their basement. Worried this could cause significant damage, the homeowner looked into several waterproofing options closest to their home. The homeowner decided to ask a local Facebook group for any recommendations, and several of them suggested working with us, American Waterworks. After taking a closer look at our services, the homeowner knew we were the best company to work with. Since they were already on our website, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner waited for the arrival of Ian, one of our Design Specialists. Ian arrived at the home and began the detailed inspection of the basement. During the inspection, Ian discovered that one wall was leaking. To prevent the water intrusion from continuing, Ian recommended installing several waterproofing products along that struggling wall. The homeowner knew this was their best option, so they decided to go ahead with Ian's recommendations. Next, Ian sent the plans to our Logistics team to build the project. Once the project was built, it was assigned to our Foreman, Roel, and his crew. Roel and his crew traveled to the home and began the installation. First, Roel and his crew installed the WaterGuard along the leaky wall. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. Once the WaterGuard is in place, the crew could shift their focus to installing CleanSpace along the unfinished basement walls. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that prevents humidity and mold growth. The crew installs CleanSpace by mechanically attaching them to the basement walls with plastic drilled-in fasteners. Once all the products were installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted with the excellent work completed by the crew, so they left a lovely review. Fargo, ND Basement Waterproofing Saves Basement

A homeowner in Fargo, ND was cleaning their basement when they made an alarming discovery, their wall was beginning to bend inward significantly. Concerned by this discovery, the homeowner knew they needed to find a permanent solution quickly. The homeowners knew they had several options near them, but they wanted the best of the best. After doing research, the homeowner came across our website and was impressed with our 5-star reviews. The homeowner knew we were the best waterproofing company to work with, so they called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, James. After James arrived, he began his thorough investigation of the struggling basement. James determined the basement required permanent stabilization and waterproofing. After he drafted up a solution, he presented it to the homeowner. The homeowner knew this was the best option for them, so he passed the plans along to our office to build the project. Once the project was built, it was sent to our Foreman, Roel, and his crew. After they received the proposal, Roel and his crew traveled to the home to begin. First, the crew focused on installing PowerBraces on the foundation walls. First, the crew begins by cutting the wall braces. Next, the PowerBraces are secured into the floor joist hardware and fine-tuned into the correct position. Then, the PowerBraces are attached to the floor with a special, bolt-in-place bracket. Since the homeowners wished to include the straightening kit, they can tighten the brackets over time to gradually straighten the walls. Once the PowerBraces were secured, the crew shifted to installing GeoLocks. The crew installs the GeoLocks by digging a section of the ground to place the first GeoLock anchor. Once the GeoLock is in place, another anchor is attached to the interior wall. Both GeoLocks are connected by a small, steel pole direct through the ground. Once the GeoLocks are secured, the soil is put back on top of the ground. Along with the GeoLock installation, the homeowner asked that the tightening kit be included as well. This will allow the homeowner to straighten their walls over time. Next, the crew shifted to the waterproofing portion of the project. First, the crew focused on installing the WaterGuard. Once the WaterGuard is in place, the crew could shift their focus to removing the old sump pump and replacing it with the SuperSump+. The crew installed a feedline across the floor to connect the SuperSump+ to the new WaterGuard. Finally, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. The homeowner was thankful for the excellent work completed by the crew. After searching for a while, the homeowner's eye was caught by our impressive, award-winning solutions. Convinced to work with us, the homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner awaited the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Kole. After Kole arrived at the home, he began his detailed walkthrough of the home. Kole discovered that the foundation was starting to settle, leading to cracks throughout the basement walls. Once he found the cause of the issue, he was able to diagnose a solution. Kole proposed permanently stabilizing the north and west walls with our wall anchoring systems. The homeowner agreed with Kole's suggestions and he directed the plans back to the office. Once the office approved the plans, they sent them to our Foreman, Emmanuel. After Emmanuel and his crew received the plans, they traveled to the home to begin the project. First, the crew installed eight GeoLock Wall Anchors, our innovative wall anchor solution, on the North and West walls. The crew installs the GeoLocks by digging a section of the ground to place the first GeoLock anchor. Once the GeoLock is in place, another anchor is attached to the interior wall. Both GeoLocks are connected by a small, steel pole direct through the ground. Then, the GeoLocks are secured, and the soil is put back on top of the ground. Once the GeoLocks were in place, the crew installed two PowerBraces on the north foundation wall. PowerBraces is a foundation wall repair system, designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten them over time. First, the crew begins by cutting the wall braces. Next, the PowerBraces are secured into the floor joist hardware and fine-tuned into the correct position. Then, the PowerBraces are attached to the floor with a special, bolt-in-place bracket. Once the crew completed the installation process, they cleaned up their materials and put the yard back together. The homeowner was put at ease knowing their foundation was saved from possible failure. If you are experiencing a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!

Void in Driveway Repaired in Fargo, ND

A homeowner in Fargo, ND, noticed their driveway was slightly sinking into the ground. Worried about the long-term issues, the homeowner knew they needed to find an expert solution. After asking their neighbors and doing some research, the homeowner decided to work with us, American Waterworks. After calling our Appointment Center and signing up for their FREE estimate, the homeowner awaited the arrival of one of our Design Specialists, Kole. After Kole arrived at the home, he began inspecting the concrete around the home. Once his inspection concluded, Kole determined the sidewalk and top slabs of the driveway needed to be lifted and leveled. Kole suggested a solution that would solve all their issues. The homeowner agreed with Kole's suggestions and the plans were sent to our Logistics team for approval. After they received the stamp of approval, our Foreman, Charlie, and his crew made their way to the home to begin the project. Once they arrived, they started by lifting the sidewalk and driveway apron with PolyLevel. The PolyLevel is a polyurethane foam injection solution that restores the appearance and safety of the concrete. The crew started by strategically drilling small holes throughout the slab. Then, the crew inserts ports into those small holes. Next, the polyurethane foam is injected beneath the concrete to fill voids and raise the slabs. Finally, the holes and control joints are sealed. Once the PolyLevel injection was finished, the crew shifted their focus to filling the cracks and replacing the joints. The crew utilized NexusPro Sealant, a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks formulated to provide long-lasting flexibility and withstand harsh weather conditions. The crew begins by drilling, smoothing, and preparing the non-absorbent backer rod filler. Then, the NexusPro sealant is inserted in the prepared crack or control joint. Finally, the cracks are detailed with a thin layer of native sand, giving the concrete a uniform, finished appearance. After the project was complete, the crew cleaned up their items and left the home. The homeowner was thankful to know their sidewalk and driveway were properly lifted and leveled. Concrete Repair in Fargo, ND

A homeowner in Fargo, ND was tired of dealing with the problems in her front sidewalk. Over the years many of the slabs had sunk and tilted in different directions which created multiple trip hazards and allowed for water to pool up in a portion of the sidewalk when it rained. She knew it was time to stop putting off the project and began her search for a concrete repair company that could help. Online she looked for concrete contractors in her area and found the American Waterworks website. She familiarized herself with what we had to offer and knew we were the right choice, so she signed up for a FREE no-obligation estimate appointment. Our Design Specialist, Dylan Johnson, went to the home to inspect the sidewalk and prepare his recommendations for the repairs. Dylan explained that our PolyLevel foam, a high-density polyurethane formula was the perfect solution because the expanding properties of the polyurethane work to lift and level the concrete and allow for an accurate leveling of the slabs. The homeowner agreed to the installation and our Foreman, Charlie Coleman, and his crew were assigned the plans. They made their way to the site and began the project by drilling small pencil-sized holes in the concrete and inserted ports inside to reach the void below some of the slabs. Then, they carried out the PolyLevel injections until the entire sidewalk surface was raised back up to its original height. The homeowner was very happy to have the trip hazards eliminated and to no longer have a place for water to pool up on.

The homeowner was familiar with the American Waterworks name because his neighbors had used our services in the past and had positive results, but didn't know what we offered. James had worked with similar basement situations before and knew just what was needed. Then, they partly filled the channels with drainage stone, our WaterGuard drain system, and more clean stone. They also connected a feed line from the drains to the current sump pump for the water to safely travel from. Next, the crew fastened CleanSpace vapor barrier to the walls to direct water leaking from the walls to the drains below and to brighten up the room. Finally, the crew poured and smoothed a layer of concrete over the drains for a clean and pleasing look to the space. During his search he found the American Waterworks website and it stood out to him because of our FREE no-obligation estimate offers. Radon Mitigation in Fargo, ND

Radon is the first cause of cancer among non-smokers in the United States, and over 20,000 Americans die from radon-related lung cancer each year. Breathing radon gas is a greater health risk than ingesting water that contains radon, and it's a greater health risk to children than to adults.

Krystal V. of Fargo, ND was curious about the radon levels in her home so she did some research on HomeAdvisor to find a local contractor that could help her. She came across American Waterworks and found out that we perform in that kind of work and provide FREE Estimates for all of our services. She called our office line and set up a FREE Estimate to get her home tested by our Design Specialist, Ian Schultz. Ian went to Krystal's home, tested her levels, and notified her that the results came back high. To make sure the air she was breathing was and is safe, she decided to get our Radon Mitigation System installed in her home, so she signed the contract and wrote a deposit check.

Our Foreman, Geno Mclain, and his crew member started the Radon Mitigation installation by drilling a hole through the concrete floor of the basement. The purpose of doing that is to form a suction point for the radon gas. Our crew ran the piping up through the basement wall, to the outside of the home, and up to the roof. Geno installed a fan at the top of the PVC pipe to make sure that the radon gas was being pushed up and away from the home. The installation took less than a day to complete. Krystal's radon levels went down dramatically. She was much happier living and breathing in her home knowing that she was living in a much safer environment.
