Dangerous Radon Levels Finds Solution in Fifty Lakes, MN

Dangerous Radon Levels Finds Solution in Fifty Lakes, MN

Before After
Dangerous Radon Levels Finds Solution in Fifty Lakes, MN Dangerous Radon Levels Finds Solution in Fifty Lakes, MN

In Fifty Lakes, MN, a homeowner came upon an article that discusses the dangers radon poses in homes. Through the article, he learned that radon is a by-product of uranium, which can be found in soil. As uranium decays, it produces radium, which eventually turns into radon gas. Since uranium is in soil, it makes radon unavoidable. Worried that his family was breathing in the toxic fumes, he decided to look into services in the area. He came upon our website and was pleased to see our Before and After photos of our radon mitigation system. He quickly contacted us to claim his FREE estimate and scheduled an appointment with our Design Specialist.

In a couple of weeks, our Design Specialist, James N., arrived at the home to start the radon monitoring test. He set this test up in the lowest level of the home and explained to the homeowner that the test would need to run for at least 48 hours. James reassured the homeowner that his decision to have the home tested was good as we cannot see, touch, smell, taste, or hear radon. He further explained that we offer a radon mitigation system that uses a large-diameter plastic pipe that suctions out the air beneath your foundation and vents it outdoors. The homeowner was thankful for James's permanent solution to prevent dangerous radon levels in the future.

In about a week, the test results came back above 4 pCi/L, which is the Environmental Protection Agency's required action level for radon. The homeowner contacted us to schedule the installment of our radon mitigation system.

In a couple of weeks, our Radon Sales & Service Technician, Jackson P., arrived at the home for the installation. When he finished installing the system, the homeowner was relieved he no longer had to worry about breathing in the toxic fumes.

Job Stories From Fifty Lakes, MN
Dangerous Radon Levels in Home Tackled in Fifty Lakes, MN

A homeowner in Fifty Lakes, MN, came upon a blog post discussing the dangers radon poses in homes. Concerned his family was unknowingly breathing in the toxic fumes, he decided to search for services in the area. When he found our website, he was pleased to see that we offer FREE estimates. Soon after, he reached out to us to schedule an appointment with one of our experts.

Our Design Specialist, James N., arrived at the home on the scheduled date and began testing the radon levels. He set up the continuous radon monitoring test at the lowest level of the home and explained to the homeowner that it would need to run for at least 48 hours. He also explained that having your home's radon levels tested every 2-5 years was good as we cannot see, touch, smell, taste, or hear radon. Radon is a by-product of uranium, which can be found in soil. As uranium decays, it breaks down into radium, eventually turning into radon gas. This makes radon gas unavoidable. James recommended installing our radon mitigation system, which uses a large-diameter plastic pipe that connects the air beneath your foundation to the outside of your home. An in-line fan would be placed beneath the foundation to suction out radon air and vent it outdoors. The homeowner agreed to James's suggestion and was happy to have a permanent solution to prevent dangerous radon levels in the future. He decided that it would be better to install the system as soon as possible rather than continuously test radon levels every 2-5 years. He decided to schedule the installment date, and James's design was sent to our Radon Sales & Service Technician, Jackson P.

After a couple of weeks, the test results came back above 4 pCi/L, which is the EPA's required action level for radon. The homeowner was happy that he had already scheduled the installment and would not have to wait any longer. When Jackson arrived at the home, he began the installment and when he finished, the homeowner was pleased to know his home now has clean, safe air.
