Radon Mitigation in Spring Valley, MN

According to the World Health Organization, radon causes 15% of the world's lung cancer cases and kills 20,000 people each year. Missy S. in Spring Valley, MN learned about the dangers of radon, so she chose to have her home tested by American Waterworks. The test results did in fact show a high level of radon, so American Waterworks took the time to walk Missy through the radon mitigation installation process and answer any of her questions. Missy wanted to act quickly so her family's health would no longer be compromised so she had the system installed as soon as possible.

Our crew drilled a hole through the floor in the basement to insert a PVC pipe and create a suction point for the radon gas. Then the gas is vented through the pipe and out of the home. A fan is also installed at the top of the PVC pipe where the gas is vented out to ensure that the gas is pushed away from the home. Missy now has peace of mind knowing that her family is protected from this dangerous gas.

Myron S. in Peterson, MN was experiencing water seeping into his basement. The water had started pooling and had nowhere to go. He contacted us to set up a FREE estimate, so we sent a Design Specialist to his home to evaluate the situation. Our Design Specialist determined that Myron would benefit from our WaterGuard drainage system and our SuperSump sump pump. Bowing Foundation Wall Stabilized in Mabel, MN

Adam W. in Mabel, MN had a cracked basement wall that had gotten worse over the course of just a few months. His block foundation had a large horizontal crack and it was starting to bow. Sunken Garage Apron Raised in Fountain, MN

Rick D. in Fountain, MN had a garage apron that had sunk about two inches over time. He was concerned for the safety of his family because it had become a trip hazard. After researching concrete repair options, he decided to contact American Waterworks because he was interested in learning more about our PolyLevel concrete repair solution. We sent a Design Specialist to his home to inspect his concrete first-hand and design the right solution for his needs. Our Design Specialist explained that PolyLevel is a polymer foam that we inject into the concrete, which causes the concrete to be raised as the foam expands and hardens. PolyLevel is more efficient and cost-effective than traditional concrete repair, so Rick chose to move forward with the injection.

Our concrete repair experts drilled small holes into the concrete apron and then injected the polymer foam. They repeated this process a couple of times until the concrete was even with the garage floor and the rest of the driveway. They filled back the holes with concrete and then sealed the cracks in the concrete with our NexusPro sealant. This sealant protects the concrete and gives it a nice, finished look. The process only took a couple of hours, and now Rick can enjoy beautiful, level concrete for years to come!

Basement Sealed in Harmony, MN

A homeowner in Harmony, MN, investigated if water snuck into their basement after a heavy rain storm. During their investigation, the homeowner came across water stains and damp spots throughout their basement. Nervous this would cause long-term damage, the homeowner knew they needed to have an expert investigate. Since they had done previous work with us, the homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. After the appointment was approved, the homeowner awaited the arrival of one of our Service Technicians, Clay. After Clay arrived at the home, he began his thorough investigation. Clay found that the water was seeping near the basement footing, so he came up with a suggested plan that would eliminate the water damage risk. The homeowner agreed with Clay's suggested plan, and production preparation began. Our Foreman, Raul, and his crew traveled to the home and prepared the basement for production. First, the crew dug and placed the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. The WaterGuard system is our patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. The WaterGuard is mainly used as a drain system due to its resistance to water clogs, easy access ports, and ability to collect leaking water. The crew dug channels around the perimeter of the basement and then placed the WaterGuard in those channels. Once the WaterGuard was installed, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with our TripleSafe sump pump. Next, the crew went outside and installed the IceGuard on the discharge line. Finally, the crew attached the Foamax, foam insulation panel that reduces condensation for exceptional moisture protection. After all the products were successfully installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was glad to know their basement was safe from future flooding. Preston, MN, Updated Basement Waterproofing

A homeowner in Preston, MN, knew they needed to have their basement evaluated after seeing their basement leaking water. Knowing it wasn't going to be a do-it-yourself project, the homeowner wanted to have a professional waterproofing company perform an inspection. After doing a quick online search, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. We sent Ryan, one of our Design Specialists, to investigate the homeowner's concerns. Once Ryan arrived, he introduced himself to the homeowner and began evaluating the status of the basement. After completing the estimate, Ryan confirmed that the basement's waterproofing products needed an update. Ryan recommended installing a new drain system and sump pump. The homeowner knew this was their best option, so they agreed with Ryan's recommendations. The plans were sent to our Foreman, Jesus, and his crew. Once Jesus and the crew arrived, they began prepping the basement for the WaterGuard installation. The WaterGuard is a below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation footing. The crew installs the WaterGuard by digging channels around the perimeter of the basement floor. Once the channels are dug, the crew can go ahead and place the drainage stone in the channels. The WaterGuard is then placed on top of the stone and covered with cement. After the WaterGuard was installed, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with the TripleSafe sump pump. To connect the TripleSafe to the WaterGuard, the crew installed a feedline across the foundation floor. Next, the crew mechanically attached CleanSpace to the basement walls. CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier that is ideal for foundation walls. The crew installed the IceGuard, an anti-freeze fitting, on the outside discharge line. As soon as the IceGuard was installed, the crew put the basement back together. After seeing the crew's wonderful work, the homeowner left a kind review on our website. If you are suffering from a similar issue, sign up for your FREE estimate today!

Leaky Basement Revamped in Preston, MN

Ryan assured the homeowner that something could be done to help the space out and prevent future damage from occurring. The homeowner was happy to hear this and agreed to Ryan's plans. We sent over Foreman Jeromy Anderson and his crew to the site to begin the installations. They started by jackhammering channels along the perimeter of the basement and placed drainage stone in them. The WaterGuard drains are designed to fix basement water problems effectively without the issues of clogging from soil and sediment. Next, they installed a TripleSafe pump system to more efficiently pump water up and out of the home. They also covered the walls with CleanSpace wall vapor barrier to encapsulate the walls and move leaking water to the drains.
